Someone told me about Breaking Bad and he said he had all the series 5 on his PC and did I want them copying as it was great.
I asked him what it was about and he said its a guy who finds out he has a couple of months to live so he becomes a drug dealer.
I told him not to bother as he has only 2 months to live yet they have spread it over 5 fucking series.

Fuck that.

Well your friend didn't tell you the whole story and perhaps you should have asked. Because he recovers from his affliction.

The BB marathon has been going on all day.   They really do drop a lot of hints that show up in the season finale and probably these last few episodes.

true... they probably spend weeks and months on so many details and it ends up being 45 minutes of condensed TV for us to over-analyze.

I just wanted the BB season premiere again.   Started great, dragged for 20 minutes, then got very good, very fast.   Normally, they'd spend 3-4 episodes doing that tap-dance between walt and hank.   This season, they're toe to toe, episode 1.   Very cool - seems like they have a lot packed into this season.

Give it a try, UKJ.  I'd like to know if what you think after watching a few episodes.  Maybe you're just not a fan of any tv series?  Have you seen The Wire, The Sopranos, Dexter?  Any of the series most mention when they talk about the best ones? (Can't think of any British ones other than The Office right now.)

Ukjeff, trust me,as a fellow Brit, but Breaking Bad is the absolute best tv series of all time.I used to think nothing could be as good as the sopranos, but this is better. You have to watch it from episode 1 of series 1,and each episode and each series gets better than the last. Here`s a link here to all the episodes.

Last nights was great, good flash forward at the start,to a years time, and the realisation when Walt knew the book was missing.Funny conversation with Badger and Skinny P as well. And when Hank closed the garage door......you knew shit was gonna start.

I always thought Walt was the reason jesse was crazy.   Now I see, even when Walt treats his right and demands nothing - that Jesse is just plain batshit crazy.  he's essentially irrelevant at this point - a retired rich kid who doesn't want the money.  Half of the show was just walt/jesse protecting each other.  Now it's just a side story.  Maybe they'll have him snap - or MAYBE the lydia/overseas  bad guys will come at JESSE, hence involving Walt when he said it wasn't his concern.

they promised a bloodbath.  The world knows who heisenberg is, in the end of the show, we know that now.  So what happens?  Hank just blows the whistle?  I was always hoping he'd end up being the muscle in walt's empire.  I guess that won't happen now :(

Jesse annoyed the fuck out of me this episode.  Man the fuck up.  Walt just can't help himself.  He wants to be a good guy but he knows deep inside he can never go back.  Hank's look on his face is like WTF! at the end.  priceless.  I swear my Blood Pressure goes up 20 points while watching this show

The 10 minute intro was overdone.   Seemed like they were trying too hard to be artistic, but I thought it was a fail.   Jesse's character seemed especially forced.

Skyler will kill Lydia.

That'd be cool.  They've done a decent job of making her seem to be an angel compared to Walt (despite helping her boss launder money while fucking him outside her marriage), would be a nice ending to see her "break bad" all the way too.

Jesse was far too red-eyed and forehead veined for me.  Even a fully tweaked meth-head would be too exhausted to maintain that level of seething angst

I think the writers are far too good to leave people with the death of Lydia as being a big event for discussions around the watercooler at work.  Skylar killing Lydia wouldn't be nearly as shocking as Skyler killing Hank.  My prediction is that Skylar "breaks bad" and kills Hank.  But the audience will be led to believe it was Walter that killed Hank, up until the very last moment of the finale.

it appears to focus on Jesse (maybe he is under threat from overseas bad guys, or even killed off)

it also looks like Skyler tells hank everything.

Hank is going to get the Ricin.

they predicted a bloodbath.  so maybe it's possible.

AND with a machine gun in the trunk... he'd only need the ricin if the goal was to quietly poison someone.  he can't just shoot them.

Most fascinating is the realization - we already know - the story of heisenberg gets out.  we know the series doens't end without the world knowing the truth.

Things are a little confusing in regards to Lydia and the meth distribution.

Is she now in business with Declan (as far as we know they have never met) or only involved with the Euro connection?

Also, as far as we know Declan doesn't know that any meth was being sent to Europe.

Who is cooking the Meth? Must be Todd and the pest guys but they are doing a poor job obviously.

If Lydia is getting pressured by the euro trash there may be some new characters come in from that angle.

She can obviously try to somehow get Jessie back into cooking again through some method.

In the last series lydia put walt in touch with the Czechs, thats when he was making the BIG money, now she has said "its dropping all the time, down to 67%" so i`m assuming she means the quality.I think we`ll see some Czechs come over and if Todds friends are the ones cooking then they won`t be happy if walt is back in business.

Hank's own career will be OVER if/when the world knows who Heisenberg is.  For a guy with cancer who will be dead in 6 months anyway, and yeah, will probably never see the inside of a cell.  I think he does the math and doesn't go public.  SKyler will spill her guts and talk him out of it, saying it'd ruin the car wash and the kids would grow up poor anyway.  Oh, and skyler would go to prison too.

I think the trashed house, etc will come from whoever isn't happy with Lydia's 60% meth quality suddenly.  Overseas bad guys that create a need for a caddy trunk full of guns.

Where did it say that the story of Heisenberg gets out? And in what capacity? If that's the case, wouldn't it then have only two possible outcomes for Walter White?

Hank is going to get the Ricin.

Probably not.  Walt gets the Ricin out of the wall socket in the flash forward with a full head of hear which means chemo and radiation is over, which is months after he confronts Hank.  If Hank were to get knocked off it would have happened way before.

They won't kill Jesse off either.  He is integral to the story line.  He is a loser with a conscience.  He is what Walt is missing to be successful.

the fact they brought Lydia back to mention the Czechs means they have some role to play. there would be no other reason to bring it up.

I think he will give the ricin to tbombz

the ricin has to be the climax of the show.  walt is going to poson someone very powerful, maybe a bad guy gonna hurt skyler, and a gun just won't do it.

Maybe he will do what gustavo did... bring a drink laced with poison, and both he and all the bad guys after him will die together?  Maybe a scarface kind of ending?  The writer talked this week about his love of scarface, and there were lots of references in the season 5 (shown earlier this year) to scarface.  Ends will probably parallel.

I think they'll kill off jesse.  He's useless as the "retired meth maker" and will just be more of what he is now, whiny, etc.  HE was the actor that said it would be a bloodbath - so I think he'd going to die.  IMAGINE that episode... jessee dying in walt's arms, after taking a bullet meant for him or whatever.  Then walt puts the kids in safety with hank, hits the road, and does whatever he needs to do.  The show will HAVE to introduce some bad guy in the next episode or 2, that will be walt's big target in the end.

Didn't watch it for years and ignored all y'all.  Stayed up all night watching S1 at a friend's, came home and stayed up for like 2 days DLing and watching the rest.  This show is pure crack rock.  Been jonesing ever since.

Been digging the hard to miss straightlaced --> hardass fantasy indulgence thing, but am very intrigued by the identity crisis it presents.  In S1E1, the geeky teach told us it was all about observing change.  So what's the preserved essence, if any, of these ne'er-do-wells?  This Ship of Theseus thing always makes for good entertainments.

Spoiler: What remains of Walt's heart will break as the family he sought to save becomes complicit.  Jesse won't betray his moral compass for profit, and Jesse will eventually kill Walt, but not for money or the drug trade.  Walt just had to go.

I like this show.  I too contain multitiudes.

"In S1E1, the geeky teach told us it was all about observing change"

The writer went back to this, talking about the reamining 5 episodes.  He said that change is the theme, and talked about episode 1 quotes.

I think the Ricin will be Walt's poison pill.  It will end with him swallowing it.

Anyone that thinks he's out is just crazy.  Walt may not be baking anymore but he definitely is still making money.  that's why he was concerned with the laundering.  He is a total bi-polar freak now, but he definitely is still in the Meth Business.

hopefully there is enough left over to administer "prime muscle" a dose? not enough to be fatal, but just enough to "catch his attention"  ???

If he wanted to die right then, he could just shoot himself with the big ass gun.  I think he has to poison someone... or, take it and turn himself in or something.

Just doesn't make sense...his crazy will to live all that time... that he'd ingest something that would take him 24-48 hours to die.

Don't forget, the hospital where Hank went didn't have an explanation as to why he was ill.   Perfect opportunity to give him some ricin, and finish him off.  And it will be Skylar who "breaks bad" in the finale and gives Hank the ricin.

Remember that Walt did this because he was dying and wanted to leave his family some money.  His death was the justification of all the damage he did.  He always used it as a crutch to justify the end.  But if he ends up healthy and the cancer is gone I can see the same shit affecting Jesse start to affect Walt.  Especially at the end if he's the only one standing.  Jesse dead, Saul dead, Sklyar and the kids leaving him, Hank fucked up.  Walt may reach his tipping point and that Ricin just may be the answer to end it all.

I don't think so.  Walt is too far gone.  Jesse was always too good a person to be able to do the things he does and be able to live with it.  Walt on the other hand, lives for the power and is greedy.
