A million gets you very little in New York City.

Most of those 7 homes they showed are actually in places that are not worth living in.

The 2-bedroom duplex in Union Square is probably decent, but looks like that unit doesn't get much sunlight. The one-bedroom condo in Chelsea is most likely a studio marketed as a one-bedroom (That's a rip off). The condo in Hell's Kitchen is probably the best deal on that list.

No one wants to live in Ditmars Park, it's over crowded and the neighborhood isn't very pleasing.

The one in Riverside drive with the view of the river is ok, but walk up a couple of blocks past 116 street and you're in the heart of Harlem and not necessarily a good area within Harlem.

The park slope apartment is ok, but that unit is a co-op unit and not worth the cost when you have to be a slave to the co-op board.

The 2-unit brownstone in Bed-Stuy is in one of the two worst neighborhoods in NYC.

A million will get you very little in New York City (especially in Manhattan), unless you travel out a little to the outer boroughs. I would recommend Queens, Bronx or Brooklyn for a few good deals in some of their better neighborhoods.

or, just move out completely, buy some land, and not worry about living as a human  Ant.

Hell's Kitchen is crack row.  Isn't that where you got into a street fight, but you are recommending the area to getbiggers?  Thanks.
Queens is mighty fine.
Spanish Harlem is ok if you can deal with loud mouth common Ricans.  At least you get a nice supply of hot women.

They love to live on top of enough other in tight spaces.
