the prison sentences probably save many young drug users lives

what America needs is a prison island to make it more economically feasible, and they could work and grow their own food etc.

It's futile to remove responsibility and consequence of choices from the individual. And it's all worth it with having such a fantastic nation any way.

People don't understand there will always be poor people under the Bretton world economic system. It causes free markets to adjust availability and prises of goods and services based on consumer power to stave of inflation. If everyone had the money everything would go up and you be back where you started.

Nobody have yet to come up with a better idea.

China tried, Soviet tried, it hell compared. Some drugs and prison population is a fair trade off for free economy.
