Remember back in the day when buying for back to school supplies and shoes the things you HAD TO HAVE?
These are the things that were not necessary, but the things that YOU had to have?
For instance, you had to have a certain backpack, and it was always a Jansport or LL Bean. Or a certain graphing calculator
Or when you were in elementary school you had to have a certain lunchbox or TrapperKeeper.
What were your back to school MUST HAVES from back in the day?

Vans, OP shorts, and Lightning Bolt shirts. I was going for the surfer look.

My friends and me use to always take our pocket knifes to school, throughout the 90's.
Imagine what would happen if you did that now... ::)

Certain Calculators, Bomber Jackets, Kwon-shoes etc
Lunchboxes was nothing we'd have to worry about in Sweden, since we had a messhall with free food.
Back in the day (in the 70s) we also used "Fjällräven" backpacks model "Kånken"

I usually ate the school lunch, in elementary school it was really good.
-
Honestly, I opened this thread thinking it was about the movie
-
In elementary school, you had to have a cool lunch box (with included thermos)...Bugs Bunny, Transformers, A-Team, Knight Rider, etc
In middle school it was mechanical pencils...also Adidas, the freshest Nikes, Bugle Boys...HS it was the freshest Nikes, Tims, and baggy jeans...Karl Kani, or some other brand (Cross Colors)...
But, you always had to have the best Jansport backpack, for double strapping.

It seems like for my age group, 1st through 4th it was cool to carry your backpack with one strap... After 5th grade people started doing the double strap thing where they had the two straps stretched to the max so the backpack hung low.

T Micheal tank tops, Otomix shoes, and MC Hammer pants because we never trained legs.... just curls for girls and bench press 7 days a week... :D
-
Just a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich and some pencils. I carried my stuff with my right arm I refused backpacks just thought they were for weak people.

I had a different scene on my Transformers lunchbox...
In High School you had to have the leather bottom Jansport backpack, no ifs, ands, or buts. So, you go to all the stores---Modell's, Dick's, etc checking for the leather bottoms, and certain colors---and all had to have thick straps, with a locking central strap, and they had to have a zillion pockets.

no i think tey were disgusting back then my weiner had to look only at prime porn to get hard, now most every decent whore gets me horney
-
Going back to school was the most depressing part of my life. Much prefer working than going to school.

Kelly Madison should do the trick.

The ones I remember that I actually bought were -
The Jansport with the leather bottom bought at Herman's Sporting goods, which was an old east coast chain. Eastpak was alright if you didn't have the cash for the Jansport.
Columbia ski jackets with the zip out liner.
Lowa Red Lace Mountaineering boots.
CCM Hockey Jerseys.
Timberland standard work boots.
Nike Jordans, Air Maxes, and the ACG lines.
That Levi's Button Your Fly T-shirt.
------------
Polo purple labels and the Polo bear were a big thing when I first started high school, never had the cash handy for it though. I remember the Macy's use to post guards around the Polo section when schools let out in certain neighbourhoods because of all the shoplifting folks would do.
Two brands I remember that were popular and fell off were Cross Colours and Marithe Francois Girbaud, but for a moment they were really popular.

Yes, I remember Herman's Sporting Goods! I think Sport's Authority took them over.
And you had to have a Columbia Bugaboo and a columbia windbreaker that folded into the pocket.
And Big Johnson T-Shirts.
