Shot probably hit a pressurized tank or something. I also wonder if he might of had tracer ammo in it, those can catch things on fire, if your not careful.

 just asking, because the 700 fires on it's own. it has happened to me. very fucking scary. you do not even need to be any where near the trigger. bang. it just goes off. shit kills people.
