Title: Really - discounted gas with taxpayer money?

Guess who's been paying for jet fuel on behalf of a handful of billionaires? That's right—you. The Department of Defense only just ended a program in which it sold sharply discounted fuel to three of the world's richest men.

Larry Page, Sergey Brin, and Eric Schmidt are all billionaires, many times over—which you might think disqualifies them from buying cheap vacation gas from the military to keep their private aircraft fueled in government-owned hangars. Incorrect.

The Google fleet conducted a few "scientific experiments" (basically putting stowing some measurement gear onboard) that made up a tiny minority of fuel gallons burned. Many other subsidized flights were made on official Google business. But there's still plenty of fun-time jetsetting, the Journal notes, including myriad trips to Westhampton, Fiji, Nantucket, Puerto Rico, Las Vegas, Martha's Vineyard, and other destinations you'd expect from a high class guy with a fuck penthouse. Typical rich guy stuff! But most rich guys aren't rich guy-ing with fuel you you helped pay for—and why should we help? It's not like we get to lie on the towel next to Eric Schmidt et al. or accompany the suits to a summit in Zurich. Feel free to womanize and skip off to Fiji—just use your own billions, please.

What they don't mention in the article is that Google is leasing space at NASA Moffett, paying a buttload of money for that right, and purchasing fuel from the only available "vendor" on the site: the Government.

What they also don't tell you is what "discounted fuel" means. It's true that the fuel is discounted, but it's not discounted below cost (i.e. the government isn't losing money for every gallon of fuel sold). The discount they refer to is the discount that the Government gets, as a massive purchaser of airline fuel, from its own suppliers.

And now that you know the full story, kindly take your fake outrage and stuff it.

 Government money = taxpayers money.

And who is taking advantage of the fuel? the CEO"private flights.. you know vacation stuff" not the company.

My guess would be that the government d*ck is so far up your a*s.... and your mind its getting cloudy.

Government money = taxpayers money.

Right, and? How is the government wasting taxpayer money in this instance? I'm all ears. Be sure to remember that (a) Google pays the Government to use Moffett field, (b) pays the Government to buy fuel at the price the Government quotes, and (c) even if the Government buys more fuel than it otherwise would in order to sell to Google, it's still doesn't sell it to Google below its own cost.

So, please explain to us how, exactly, this wastes taxpayer money? Come on. Let's hear it.

And who is taking advantage of the fuel? the CEO"private flights.. you know vacation stuff" not the company.

Right and? It's their fuel - fuel they bought from the only vendor available to them at Moffett field at the price the vendor quoted them. Where they choose to fly using that fuel and for what purpose is their business, not yours or mine, or even the vendor's. That doesn't change just because the vendor happens to be the Government.

So, let's reiterate: they bought fuel from the only vendor available to them in Moffett field, at the price that vendor wishes to charge them. What's the problem?

Granted, if the vendor in question (the Government) sold fuel to them at a loss that could be a potential problem. But it didn't. They sold it to them at neither a loss, nor a profit. So, again, what's the problem?

My guess would be that the government d*ck is so far up your a*s.... and your mind its getting cloudy.

You should save for your guesses for when you're playing the lottery. If you can't debate the issue on the merits, and support the assertions you're making, then silly insults won't help you.

Since you have told me to take my fake outrage and stuff it, i believe you have insulted me first.

Well!!! I will continue saying that your mind still cloudy.. in fact because of hard pounding.

Those are billionaires traveling to go on vacation trips. not for working as it should be.

If you don't mind or care how taxpayer money is used?  oh!! you know what... I've forgot that i'm arguing with someone that didn't care about the government bailing out the big banks.700 billion.

After taking a a mile long d*ck up your a*s... an extra inch probably will not make a difference.

 Carry on.

Telling you to stuff your fake outrage is an insult? My... how soft and cuddly you are!

You can continue to say it - although not sure what it gets you in the context of this discussion. But if it makes you happy, then by all means, continue. It's not like your words affect me in any way.

Why should they be working? They bought the fuel. It's theirs to do with as they please. They can use it to fly to the Bahamas or use it to get a bonfire at Burning Man going.

If you don't mind or care how taxpayer money is used?

Please, show us again how taxpayer money is being wasted here? The government purchases jet fuel for its own operations at a discount from jet fuel vendors (also, tax free). It then turns around and sells some of that fuel to people who pay the price that government demands plus taxes. And the price the government demands is not below its cost. So how is the government losing money here?

Also, what else can the Google executives do if the Government will not let them purchase fuel from anyone else to refuel their planes while they are on the ground at Moffett – a privilege for which, may I add, the Google executives pay the government handsomely.

Until you can answer those two questions, your position is completely unsupported.

oh!! you know what... I've forgot that i'm arguing with someone that didn't care about the government bailing out the big banks.700 billion.

I didn't? How do you figure? Please provide one quote from me that supports what you said. I suspect you'll be hard pressed since I was opposed – and quite vocally – to the bailouts. I'm a libertarian, remember. I don't think the government should be in the bailout business.

So I'm not sure where you go this idea. Perhaps the one with the cloudy mind isn't me...

You seem to know a lot about taking "miles of dick" in the ass. I will defer to your obvious expertise on the subject.
