Title: IOS 7 Today
Post by: El Diablo Blanco on September 18, 2013, 11:42:22 AM
Anyone upgrade yet?  I have 4 devices.  2 Iphones, Ipad mini and Ipad 3.  Shit is taking forever to download.  It does seem that they've added multi tasking apps and background apps that can continue performing a job.  Bout fucking time.

Overall look.  Seems like a lot is the same so far, but I like automatic app updates and the notification bar actually seems helpful.   That's it so far.

I am posting this from my newly ios7'd iPad. It's a little laggy and I have already found a few weirdnesses in the iPhone. Expect a 7.0.1 within a week.

Lots of people I know had it crash multiple times during download.  Took me about 5 tries.

I wait at least 3 weeks or longer before upgrading.  I let the nimrods deal with all the bugs first.  Being the first to download a new IOS is as lame as camping out in front of a movie theater dressed in a costume......    ::)

That just happened to me a few times now. I had no problems last night, but today I've had to refresh the page one to several times for the embedded video to display.

They created this candy color phone line and then this candy colored graphics.  Seems they are attracting teens, children and gays.  The shit looks way cluttered.

sheepish trap...

using mac products these days is completely obsolete, not to mention stupid.

it was only worth using when the first iPhone came out. then 2 years later, rivals caught up and sold a better product for half the price.

I don't know if its IOS 7 or having the actually new phone to do the scanning.  There may be some tech in the new phone to do so.  Some of the "new" features are old features that existed with the Palm Pre.  Of course Apple will take all claim for making it new.

In lieu of entering your PIN to unlock, the 5 simply scans your thumb.

Having a fingerprint scanner negates the 5th amendment because a fingerprint password isn't something that is in your mind, it's something you can physically give (ala dna) to the police.  So when asked you have to fork it over. With numbered password, since it's something known in your mind, it's protected by the 5th amendment.

Just something to be aware of.

That's not stark.  Not enough Nazi references.

I agree though.  Very childish design but is meant to push the new colored phone.

That's all correct. However I'm afraid this is largely a moot point. The technology to brute-force unlock a phone is widely available today; if you're using a 4 digit pin it's a matter of minutes. So the police can get to the phone data. But even if they don't have the ability to brute force the phone, they can compel third parties (e.g.: your cellular provider, Apple and Google) to produce all data on you that they hold. Best case scenario, they need a warrant. Realistically, they likely do but getting one isn't all that difficult. Worst case scenario, they're tapping everything already so they hav.... Hey!!! Wait a second!!!
