Yup, yup....
-
And he was a seriously top tier class act about it. That was gracious as hell.
-
What's weird is he said he only trained for 10 weeks for the Olympia. Yet there is video of him in the gym many months out of the show. In fact, he video tapped himself almost everyday for the past year. In and out of the gym, restaurants, food shopping, doing cardio and sitting on the toilet..Who's he trying to bullshit with the 10 week comment?.
-
6th jay is better gift than branch 9th place.
-
everyone KNEW he was getting 6th. Had to have him in that final posedown, just had to.
-
name alone
-
And he was a seriously top tier class act about it. That was gracious as hell.
Roelly should be placed 6th
-
Roelly should be placed 6th
Yup. Would be pissed as Roelly. Jay was now such a train wreck that Beyanke should have clearly been ahead of him.
-
Jay didn't announce any retirement today. He came back with only 3-4 months training and was still given #6 in the world.
He should come back next year and compete again - even at 41 years old.
Who's the 6th best QB in the NFL? Eli? Flacco? They're sure not retiring just because they're not as good as brady or manning.
Why not keep coming back? Sure, "legacy" and all that... nobody likes to see an amazing player keep playing 5 years past his prime. But if they love competing, they're making a good living... why not? Lots of "rock star" bands from the 80s and 90s still tour regularly and play for 200 people in bars these days. No, they're not #1 in the world anymore, but they're still doing what they like and making a living.
I bet Jay will be back next year too. He might only get 9th last year as injuries mount...and he might get 4th too. Why not try it? Former champs are going to win the edge if it's close at all. Former champs WILL get in the top 6th, even if they have the 7th or 8th best physique onstage. brady gets calls that Vick doesnt. It's just the nature of sports. You win a few rings and you get the benefit of the doubt.
I think jay will be back, and he should come back. Forget trying to match Jordan going on top with the jumper against the Jazz... Jordan came back as a solid yet not amazing player because it made hiim HAPPY and made him money too. Go for it!
-
He won't compete, no way.
-
He won't compete, no way.
What if someone offers him a million bucks to wear their supp brand t-shirt, use his likeness on products, for the next 365 days, train for the show, and place wherever?
ANY of us would do it for a million bucks, right? I bet after the buzz surrounding him, ,Jay would get 2 or 3 million. Just ONE company. Heck, get a tattoo for them or something lol... If he was untrained and sloppy 4 months out... imagine what a year of training could do... Jay would be given 2nd or 3rd next year, we all kinda know it, injuries or not.
-
If the money's right, he'll do it - he's got to pay the bills somehow. He'll probably do one more year and then call it quits.
-
sure, he can do it for the money if someone were to offer, but theres no way he would be competitive. he's been a pro since '96 and by the look of his physique today, his body has had enough. his shape today had nothing to do with only having 10 wks to train, and everything to do with "father time". his body is beat and will only detoriate like ronnies.
-
There's no coming back from nerve damage, no matter what the prep time, its father time retiring your ass
-
I'm not saying he can regain his 2010 shape. Ever again.
I'm saying he can show up at the O in his best possible shape, and he will be awarded top 10 for the next 3 years, easily.
And if he has all year to train, he will have more muscle. He will have his messed up shape and some poor areas due to nerve damage, injury, etc, but he's a fan favorite and thus will still be top 10. We all know it. He got 6th today and that's with 3-4 months of training, and all those injuries. Give him 2 months off to recover, 7 months to build muscle, and 3 months to get ripped again.
Jay will be back in 2014... too much $ on the table, and he knows the placings will be there, despite his flaws.
IMO, the ship has sailed on ending his career with some perfect legacy. Right now, it's a great job he loves that he's still top 6 in the world at it... He can make a few miilion just going to the gym and eating clean, something he's done for the last 25 years.
Jay will complete at the O in 2014. Period.
-
Giving him 6th is really as devious as it gets. Pretty much, they showed him the door but left it opened for him to crawl back in. It's like "It's up to you Jay. You can try again and embarrass yourself. Nobody will have your back if you fuck up this big next time."So the thing we don't know is how much Jay needs to milk that cow or is he comfortable enough to just do the guest posing and post-career BS and make enough from it. I hope he can retire frankly.
-
He didn't do so bad when you consider he only trained for 10 weeks as claimed. ::)
Imagine what he could do if he trained a full year.
-

If he can afford paying $1,000 a week just on that ART massages as he claimed in his video then he can't be doing too bad and can afford to retire. Just drop most of the drugs and get to men's physique level size and bang that new hottie he has shaving his back. Forget the pro bodybuilding life already while you still have your hair and kidneys in tact.
-
He can still just show up and sign autographs and make a great living.
If he wants to keep lifting and stay in decent shape, he can still make ten grand a week just showing up for guest posing once a week for 12 minutes and 3 hours of chatting at a booth.
Jay loves the action, the excitement, the attention, the rush of beating people and attaining his best shape. He'll be back onstage. He may be exhausted now and maybe say he's done... but I'll believe it when I see it. The iron is hot, he'll strike it.
-
2015 Arnold classic as the swan song.
Get big as a house through 2014 and do a big farewell tour.
-
why would anyone want jay cutlers autograph?
-
why would anyone want jay cutlers autograph?
Insomnia remedy.
-
He is going to be hanging around and pretend to be still active and keeping money flowing.
His competitive days are gone.
-
He did mention possibly competing at the Arnold Classic...Ofcourse he has played around with that idea just about every year in the past...
-
Being a top pro costs lots of money and mental sacrifice.
It depends on financial ,health and mental situation.
-
Insult to injury: the quasi-Hebrew purportedly boinking Jay's wife is a champion on the same stage that Jay got a humiliating 6th place on!

ronnie at his peak got 1.5M over 3 yrs. no way in hell jay gets an offer for 1M a year let alone 2-3M. bpi's ceo would be on a corner with a can for cutting a deal like that. the 10 week story is bullshit because we watched him prep for months on youtube.
kai maybe the most marketable bbing right now given his style and charisma.
they robbed roelly this year. how many guys they'd have to rob next yr to get him in the top 10? ;D
-
Dexter Jackson is still competing, and is former Mr Olympia, so why cant Jay?
-
He won't compete, no way.
I hope he won't. He's done and his muscles and nerves are burned out.
Same case for this fella:

What's next?
Hang up the trunks or try one more time. What about BPI.....wonder if they are kicking themselves after all the money they invested in Jay, the Lex Express, I mean Cutler Express Bus and of course the salary of his man servant.........

I hope so. Before the Olympia, I rooted for Jay. He went to the olympia looking like shit, and I hope he realizes that and stops competing. He is burnt out.
-
Jay was robbed. He IS Mr. Olympia 2013 in the eyes of any serious bb observer.

This is true. Never understood why people are expected to retire because they're not mr Olympia anymore. If you can make money, keep going.
-

You dream too much, LOL
I would pose with only a sock on for that money (oops, no homo!), but no company would invest 1 million in a guy that won't make the top 6 next year.
-
...He came back with only 3-4 months training...
LMAO
I Love to learn they didn't fully prepare for the show after? or during the contest whereas they claim to be "in the best shape of their life" at least 4 weeks before entering the stage. ::)
What kind of bad new will we learn next year after his presentation during the prejudging? I actualy had a new tear 3 weeks before the show and I forgot to mention it on the forum I follow 3 hours a day?
By the way he trained seriously during at least 5 or 6 months, not "10 weeks".
-
Jay only trained seriously for a few months...He is no where near burned out like Ronnie...
-
I hope he won't. He's done and his muscles and nerves are burned out.
Same case for this fella:
Exactly, it's important to know when to retire. Dennis James & Kevin Levrone were good examples.
-
According to MadMax6:
-so what went wrong last night dave?
-I don't know. We hard a hard time to fill him up in the room around 4 pm. He was too flat so Chris had him eat 2 burger s fries and finally he was getting full again but I guess not enough.
-
Being a top pro costs lots of money and mental sacrifice.
It depends on financial ,health and mental situation.
Jay needs to quit and live off his past success.
-
Jason needs to keep competing to stay relevant......he knows he's not gonna win shit anymore......who wants to pass on the chance of making several thousand of dollars when your chances are still good. he can crack top 6 again next year
-

You smoke too much crack

He will drop like a rock if he comes in next year lucky to make top 10. Aging is a bitch.
-
For people asking why retire bc 6th is not bad...Although you are correct 6th is nothing to be ashamed of..but dont forget another year of taking those horrible compounds at 40 plus..
levrone must of been the most realistic one..he left early bc he realized also after a certain point age your body doesnt improve
-
You dream too much, LOL
I would pose with only a sock on for that money (oops, no homo!), but no company would invest 1 million in a guy that won't make the top 6 next year.
they will if his name is Jay Cutler.
If Arnold decided to do the O next year, one of those supp companies would probably pay him 10 or 20 million. Heck, MuscleMilk would probably pay him $50 mil to do the masters' Olympia... even if they knew he wouldn't be top 6.
Cause he's a name, he's a draw. And as we saw this year, a very boring and predictable O became "the show of the century!" just because an old and injured Jay was planning a comeback.
i think companies don't care about the final placing, as much as they do about the ATTENTION this person will get. Who scored higher than Jay this year? Rhoden? Wolf? I betcha companies would choose Jay over them in a HEARTBEAT if they could get them at the same price, right?
Supp companies, magazines, guest posing, all that... it's not about the placing, nor the physique, but about the $$$ draw this person brings.
-
Also.. is that true about Jays wife? ???
-
Jay will come back, with another year to regain and improve!
-
Jay will come back, with another year to regain and improve!
No way, he needs to hang his thong in the closet.
-
Cutler trains like a fuckin pussy. Anyone who watched Jay's "training" videos will agree with that. He let's the drugs do all the work for him and that's not enough. Stick fork in him. Please do the BBing world a favor Jay and retire now.
-

MadMax talking crap as usual.

Please understand that Jay's 6th placing was A GIFT.
But regarging your posts, your consistent adoration is truly admirable :o...
...too bad it's for Jay ;D
-

He probably made the full commitment to himself to do the show @ 10 weeks
-
Yeah, he had a lot of class up there on stage.
-
probably made more $$$ selling Tshirts at the olympia , then winning 6th
-
Jay cutler will never retire
in 15 years he will compete with a frame like frank zane
-
Jay is trying to hang on like a old boxer that gets the piss beat out of him for a final paycheck.
-
probably made more $$$ selling Tshirts at the olympia , then winning 6th
Think he sold out of everything at his booth from what I read on FB.
-
These guys still get on stage, why can't Jay?
-
Great run, should retire. Sure he could put on a bit more muscle and come back but he'll always have that wide waist so coming in smaller doesn't work for him. To reclaim most of his size he'd have to do what these other guys do all year round. Not worth it at 41 IMO. Unless he has nerve damage or injuries, the irreversible muscle loss that happens with age is more late 40s. We've seen numerous guys early and mid 40s looking near their peak. (Dexter, Alves, Freeman, Taylor, even Ronnie until over 45)
-
probably made more $$$ selling Tshirts at the olympia , then winning 6th
Sure he did! He will now join Ronnie his competing days are over, he isn't stupid!
-
And he was a seriously top tier class act about it. That was gracious as hell.
Jay loves bodybuilding, and it probably happens him to hang up the posing thong. Regardless, he shouldn't compete anymore.
I agree with you, he handled the 6th place well.
-
Roelly should be placed 6th
^^^ This
or even 5th.
The guy has a bright future if he can gain a little bit more size and come in ripped.
-
6th jay is better gift than branch 9th place.
Let's not be delusional. I really liked Branch's physique at one point, but there is no way he should have even been compared to Byeke, let alone place higher.
-
Jay has nothing to hang his head about. He's had a great career. He gave it one last shot and it didn't work out as planned. At least he came in conditioned. A class act who will always be a 4x Mr. O.
-
Lionel was excellent and will hopefully improve in the coming year(s). Jay was good, but his biggest threat was the judges memory of what he once was.
Hard to compete against that.
-
A 12th place would be more fair.
-
1-5 is an auto qualification
BUT since Jay is a former Mr O, he can do 2014 without doing any more shows before then.
-
-
I think Bob was pushing a retirement speech out of Jay as he was getting off stage. I thought for sure Jay was going to say something along the lines if "its been a great ride, but its time to retire now."
Knowing Jay though, Dave is going to tell him how good he looked X days out and Jay will come back. Not a good idea...
-
He did show class last night. Time to retire. Kai was a poor loser. He should have been 5th with that big belly.
-

he's making too much money, and only kai and phil are more marketable than him. he'll wing it like ronnie for a couple of yrs. i don't think he'll step on the o stage but i think he'll con people and say, he is taking 2014 off to get back in 2015 because he needs a year + instead of 10 weeks. ::) milk the system for two years.
-
Hater bitches. I thought jay was going to be suck before prejudging.
Then he wasn't going to make the finals.
I don't care where he placed but the 240 conspiracy was getting out of hand.
-
In what pose exactly has Jay (6th place) beaten Ramy (8th place)? I'm not an expert, please help me out.
-
Does this mean there won't be a Beats by Jay, Vol. II?

Probably none.

Cutler is beaten in all poses.

i really never seen the appeal in cutler
he has the widest waist ever for a mr olympia , crappy arms, overated back.
as a long time fan of bodybuilding i honest think he is the worst mr olympia ever. had he been a negro, i dont think he would have ever won the my olympia
-
Jay has never, ever, in his entire NPC & IFBB career competed looking so bad.
His spirit may be willing but his body is unable to respond.

i think he competed cause hes broke.

He had his chance. Dumbass should have retired when Kerri wanted kids. Now, he is washed up and stuck with Dave stalking him with a camera and Larry living in his garage. But he does have a leased Rover and Bentley, and a cap twisted on backwards. ::)
Playa on, Jay. ::)
-
He will compete in 2014.

Ha!

Jay needs to eat more red meat and start lifting heavy, heavy weights. This has to start soon. As in tomorrow. Jay needs to play the size game and eclipse Phil off the stage.

My thoughts on you re: This thread
Stink

This is Jay? Never thought I'd see him, thinking, 'Man, that dude has skinny legs.'

everyone KNEW he was getting 6th. Had to have him in that final posedown, just had to.
they had ten in the final posedown...

Come on, dude shouldn't even have competed this year. He's done. Deal with it.

AND apparent he uses lot synthol or agent to fill in short biceps gaps...not like steady curling at 35 yrs old plus is doing the trick..
-
Arce, I really enjoy you sharing the collection of Kai posters you have pinned up on the ceiling above your bed.
-
Great interview from Jay and nice to see him being so respectful to the other competitors. At the end he says "Even if i'd trained all year for this I wouldn't have beaten the guys who placed above me" Class act.

I agree. Cutler's muscles and nerves are burned out. He is past a point of no return.

People often say foolish things like this when they're young. He was probably 28 or 29 when he said this nonsense. We all do it.
With age comes wisdom, and Jay learned that a lifestyle of training and competing into his 40s and the fan adoration that comes with it is the path to true happiness for him.

When pressed at an after party about the statement, Cutler said he would be foolish because there's no way his organs would hold up. So now he's 40 and is barely hanging on to his kidneys... :-\
-
Do you understand that JAY has stolen his place at the Olympia.
His Body is dead for the top level of competition.

I've really enjoyed how Rob picked a strategy, and really stuck by the execution of that strategy.
In the coming years, we'll come to appreciate his determination and executional excellence, even in the face of adversity and apathy alike.
As masterful a troll as there ever was. He's the Matt Mendenhall of trolling; perfect lines and execution, just not getting noticed by the judges for whatever reason.
But the legend will live on well into the future as tomorrow's masters reminisce about the greats of yesteryear.
