There are infinitely many universes according to the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics, each of which has an Earth. On some Earths there are no continents, one continent on others, five hundred on another...altogether, infinitely many Earths, and so infinitely many continents.

We did very well for years with our own foot and pound without having to deal with these largely phony and fraudulent measurements.
