If you haven't watched it, watch it.
Just too much to hit on how wicked this situation has been and will continue to be. I hope Goodell, and Dr. Ira Asson burn in house fires.
45/46 brains researched had CTE...yet the NFL still denies any connection to CTE and it's been studied since 1994.... ::) ::) ::) riiiiiiiiiiiight

Who cares, they're overpaid assholes.
Lol who wouldn't expect brain damage from repeated, high speed collisions to the head

I want to know how that Bengals player Adam Jones got away with punching that girl in the face? ???
If I had done that I'd be sitting in jail right now.
He punched her for not being a Mudshark, and I guess the liberal judges thought that was a valid excuse.

This isn't about that. Perhaps you can start a different thread on it.

Fuck'em.
They know the risks.

Bunch of fuckers getting paid millions to play a game. A GAME! Am I supposed to feel sorry for them? Fuck them. Why are you so concerned about millionaires getting hurt, just go and do a study on injuries to construction workers getting $7 an hour and how they are treated like shit. Society is all worried about millionaires getting headaches. Fucking priorities are just shit.
-
If they were poorly paid athletes would some of y'all have compassion? That said, what is the threshhold for compassion? NFL players earning less than six figures a year? Less than 200K?
Just curious.

I'm too lazy and I'm sure it will come back to haunt me. :(

Yes, football and boxing should be either outlawed or shut down permanently by class action law suits. ::) I'm sure many lawyers have been licking their chops at the pay day they will get.
It's the price they pay for participating in brutal sports for the entertainment of guys sitting on a couch drinking beer. At least they are paid well.

pay me that kind of cash, and ill gladly sign a waiver to strap on the pads again

C'mon Nails, we all know you strap on pads every month.
:D

I keep on hearing shit about the future of football being in jeopardy and whites not letting their kids play. Big deal. there are thousand and thousands of blacks lining up to play, there is a big mill of black kids for generations to come willing to knock heads to make millions.

Is it me or does Mrs. Bush look really hot there?

I think we can all agree that what's needed here is some good ole government intervention. They managed to solve the MLB issues.

Here is the link to watch it on line. Just do it.

This. Fuck, by the time I was playing High School football I KNEW it was incredibly unheathly to get hit in the head. Having a headache for two days just seemed inherently dangerous.
-
Those guya literally get paid millions to play a high risk game... they know the stakes, no different than boxers being all fucked up at the end of their careers. Dont weep for them. They know exactly what they do and many times will beg and plead to get put into games when they know theyre fucked up.
theyre modern day gladiators. They know their role

As long as your team has a white qb and coach your good ;)

I remember when Brock Lesnar was Heavy-Weight champ of the UFC, Jim Rome asked him which sport is more dangerous: UFC or NFL
Brock said that the NFL was more dangerous. He said that your life is on the line each week in the NFL (and he only played pre-season)

Put the Great Gazoo helmet on these guys and be done with it. Sure it will look funny for awhile but it would become the norm within a year...

With these type of helmets, they can go back to allowing hits to the head which would make the game more exciting IMOP...
-
Imagine if they used the points on top the helmet during a tackle
lol

Feel bad for Junior Seau. Poor guy probably suffered from concussion-related depression. Not sure what the NFL is supposed to do about it, though. Dissolve?

nothing. They shoukd do nothing but let safety gear evolve. These guys get paid millions to get hit repeatedly in the head, and they know it. Just like f1 drivers. Safety gear evolves with the sport, the sport shouldn't have to fundamentally change because someone figured out getting hit on the head fucks you up.

Ok, fair enough.

sorry, wasnt meant as a snap at you. Im just irritated that I canr fall asleep, and because so many people act so outraged like these guys are poor innocent children that have no idea that getting your face smashed in dozens or hundreds of times per year has negative side effects.
thatd be like me volunteering for the infantry, getting my ass shot or blown up, and then complaining that I had no fucking idea what I was getting into. I knew exactly what what I was volunteering for.... we knew the stakes. Everyone has their own reasons but theyre all there willingly.
They get paid millions to sacrifice their health to entertain people and play a game for a living. Thats the deal they have made.
Should they strive to make the game safer? Absolutely. Should the core fundamentals of the game suffer? Fuck no warrior, not unless those guys want to drop their salaries significantly.
Just my humble opinion, breh.
-

No, I agree that they certainly assume the risks. Still, I find it kinda depressing that some of these guys end up losing their minds when they are still fairly young. Aikman probably has a horrible road ahead, and it just seems sad. Not that anyone but Aikman is responsible, but still sad.

I know you werent displaying that attitude. ... its been on display everywhere though, and it pisses me off. The news anchors, and there shocked indignation
"you mean pro football can/will cause health iasues for many players after their career is over!? Say it aint so Joe! Those poor, poor sad multimillionaires that begged to be put in on the game winning drive with their 3rd concussion so they could immortalize themselves as a superbowl winner.... how could you ever let them play?! Youre a monster, NFL! Now gooddell, change shit because fans clearly want to watch a more boring, watered down game while these guys salaries continue to skyrocket, until were literally playing touch football while the QB can just stand in the back and not need a line to defend him."
Sorry, im in dick mode tonight. I fucking hate people man... guy at my work bitches that these poor guys are getting destroyed rhen turns around talks about how awesome that hit was that Sherman laid on that guy.
Fuck. People.

I hear ya, guy.
