was studying up on Math and universities that teach complex things. i notice through the video when the teacher asks the students if 'do you know what i mean' or 'do you have a solution'
the students never give feedback no one knows what the fuck is going on
it made be that one student that knows because he is brilliant
the problem with teachers and math that is full of rules. is the teacher will breeze through a new concept after concept using y , b, x, z , n and ect ect expecting the student to recall what the fuck y,b,z ect and other variables actually stand for. This is a tool of misleading the student on purpose to confuse them, it is why math doesnt make sense when you substitute variable letters that take the place of numbers
this is so fucking annoying, they move so fast and dont give your brain enough time to place all the figures where they need to be and make sense of them
watch this video. you will not learn, but you will understand what needs to be clarified but is not, and you will see these YALE students have no fucking clue what is happening
LET ME CLARIFY THE LETTERS AND SYMBOLS IN MATH FUCK UP EVERYTHING ON PURPOSE, THIS IS WHY PEOPLE CHEAT, AND WRITE SMALL PRINT ON THERE FINGERS FORMULAS TO PASS THE TESTS BUT NEVER UNDERSTANDING.
A GOOD TEACHER CAN TEACH YOU COMPLICATED MATH BY GIVING A CLEAR DISCRIPTION OF THE EQUATION WITHOUT CONFUSING YOU WITH SYMBOLS AND LETTERS OF WICH YOU CANT KEEP TRACK OF OR DEFINE THEM IMMEDIATLEY, YOU WOULD HAVE TO REVERT TO OLD TEXTS TO RECALL SUCH SYMBOLS AND VARIABLES, ITS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO CARRY OVER OLD ASS LAWS THAT YOU HAVENT USED IN 50 EQUATIONS AGO, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN REHASHING THAT SYMBOL,
THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO FUCK YOU UP
-
do you people get what the fuck im saying
this goes on in other feilds, the whole curriculim of most advanced classes move too fast to develop youre own theories and equations.
-
They use variables because the specific numbers don't matter.... or something like that
-
If a = b, and c = b, then meth must be a helluva drug
-
I can't believe they still use chalk boards. !!!!
-
The most advanced math I took was calculus (ok fine not really advanced), but I got an A. I learned the material via the homework and studying beyond the homework. The classroom eventually become the tool to ask the questions concerning things I couldn't figure out on my own and get exposure to new material. The vast majority don't master the new material within the hour or two of class. It's the independent and/or group study outside of class that makes the difference for the majority. If you don't to do the homework and study beyond the assignments you might feel scammed.

they should just spell out the fucking word like mass or speed ect
-
All you need is addition, subtraction, division and multiplication. Fuck the rest of complicated shit.

Yes excellent point Johnny.

That gets really tedious.
Man of steel has the right idea... the classroom should be for reviewing what you've learned on your own, not to learn the material for the first time
-
The problem is they never teach you why you need to know it. instead of dumping functions like a+b(x-y)=Z and sit there running through it over and over and over, why not spend time on the application and purpose of this function, why it's important, how it is used to solve problems and how it is used in the real world. Teach the kids the practice of it than just memorizing letters.

Nobody teaches you algebra bc they expect you to make use of it later on.... it's to develop abstract thinking.
Build a general foundation of knowledge and skills first, then specialize

I disagree with so much of this... the pace is appropriate otherwise you would never get through the material. They know what the variables mean, that's not the issue, they've been using the same variables for pretty much the whole course. That's how it usually goes, you're not supposed to instantly understand everything as soon as you're exposed to it, they have a ton of homework, discussion/recitation sections, labs, and office hours to further reinforce the material. You're also expected to study on your own when taking classes like this.
As to application, most of the people taking physics 2 are engineers, chemists, or physicists. The later two deal more with theory in most cases. The applications come in other major specific courses, but a basic understanding of electricity and magnetism is probably a pre-req to these. In most courses on differential equations and partial differential equations they focus almost entirely on theory with very little application. You might solve a transient heat problem in a class on fourier series or PDE's but that's not the main focus of the class. The application is stressed in other courses where knowing the methods to solve the various equations you encounter in your field is crucial. A chemical engineer isn't going to be looking at the same problems as a theoretical physicist, but they're both going to encounter a ton of differential equations in their fields and they better know how to solve them.

Not a single fuck is given by me, live your life the way you want, enjoy it
If it not meant to be don't push it, you are who you are
Keep calm and carry on

Math really isn't learned in a lecture hall. You have to do problems / homework and read the book going through examples to truly understand the concept. However, often even if one understands how to solve a problem well they typically do not know how it applies to real world situations or understand their true purpose. So inevitably one will forget and never apply what they learned. That's the true fault and waste 9f the education system in my opinion

It's the subjects themselves that are complicated

It's the subjects themselves that are complicated
exactly people want to solve world problems and become a-class engineers but there teacher goes through so much material so fucking fast
the thing is math is full of "rules" to abide by in equations,
for example a typical advanced or equation may compile of 8-10 or more math rules in one equation...
thus every situation that has needed MATH to solve it should have a list of rules used to solve that equation. like a math dictionary.. for example you are trying to figure out the net loss of energy from a 2 inch by 2 inch solid rubber ball that weighs 3 pounds thrown at 50 miles perhour aimed/pointed at on center to an object that is a 5 feet away 8 feet tall solid wall by 3 feet wide and angled at 35 degrees to the left
after it hits the angled wall what is the balls net loss of energy/or speed after it has bounced 10 feet away from the angled wall
now from my common sense i know i need to know the the bouncing rate of a ball that size an the material composition of the ball to get an accurate measuremant percisely. is this equation possible , i know it is but the rules need to BE FUCKING SPELLED OUT. much of lifes complex engineering matters NEED TO BE FUCKING SPELLED OUT you dont want to half ass this equation, what if the equation/question i layed out is an engineering issue for a new vehicle i this is where all the brilliant inventions are completed withought issues!!, with the perfect knowledge...
the only seemingly tricky part of my equation is not knowing the 'bouncyness' of the chemical composition of the ball, and how much gravity will slow the energy down after the ball hit the wall. im sure there are other issues that would need to be clarified before beginning to solve this equation!
-
Try studying advanced math analysis or advanced discrete math or advanced geometry
I'm telling you ITS NOT FOR EVERYONE
Like chemistry like physics like everything else in this world
Talented will pick up everything fast and quick
Genius won't even need to study
Move on
-
Fuck math, study men in thongs. 8)
-
Your pursuing knowledge even though it isn't your job (unlike, say, academics) is respectable.
do you know how many rules of math will be implicated in my math 'problem' below bro?

Alone in a room with zero distractions and a bottle of adderall, 1/3 of the population would pick it up no problem...

20 out of 20 bros says either math is stupid or easy yet none can yield an answer to my math equation

Johnny, while I don't know the particulars of how to solve your problem, I'm confident that physicists can in fact do as such.
Did you ever go to university? If so, you might be able to use your old university email to send questions to professors across the country as an "interested student."
Alternatively, there are online courses available for self education purposes, though I've never used them and thus cannot attest to their efficacy. There are also wonderful apps for the iPhone that allow you to hone your quantitative skills via random problems. Finally, there are "popular science" books that cover some of the topics you're clearly interested in, conveying the essentials without getting bogged down in technical details (a strategy with strengths and weaknesses as far as understanding is concerned).
Good luck on your quest and PM me for more details on any of the above

WTF bRO
MaN i just pm'ed Man of Steel and that peice of ass claimed in this thread that he got an A in calculus but then wrote me back saying he didnt know where to begin if he were to try and solve my math problem!!! WTF
more PROOF THAT IM ALWAYS A CHAMPION and schools dont teach shit!!!!!

u listen to it while your cleaning your house or or your car ,, and when he asks the students what the fuck he's talking about none of them get it
he just blabbers on and on like any shitty professor does, not really explaining it more than one way, totally uninteresting the way teachers do it
kinda like how i give multiple examples when i try to persuade getbiggers of something, atleast one of those examples will click and make sense, this teacher does none of that,

Unless you want to be a rocket scientist.......or math teacher.

stop attention whoring no one will read your problem,, people have lifes,, yes get a life
I personally studied hardest math on a planet earth in eastern Europe for two years,, then realized this is not for me and quit moved to usa to pursue my dreams here,, so now please - do us a favor and stop pretending being a smart ass ;)

Both of those jobs are dull and uninteresting. A pimp is much more interesting.

It's been 20 years since I've taken calculus LOL.

Failcan has been getting a free pass lately. He should be in consideration for a thread dump.
Its not fair to a guy like anabolichalo. Falcon may be an elder, but it is the duty of Getbig to share the truth. 8/10 Falcon threads are pure rubbish these days.

You're going to get flack for saying that. Falcon is a protected poster around here.

Im all about fairness. Imho, there is nothing that seperates Falcon and halo at this point.

Gotta agree. Math is hard. Groundbreaking discovery.
