I need either a 1.7+ct princess cut, or a 1.3ct single, plus a couple .75ct princess cut.
never bought online, and my regular 'jewelry guy' is loooong gone.... and I happen to be in an area where diamond prices are steep (lots of old wealthy people).
any places online I should be looking at? or is my best bet doing a deal face to face? what's a "good price" to pay for what i'm looking for?
is the difference between SI and VS THAT noticeable? i'm more concerned with overall size. what's the price difference between SI and VS.
Either a single 1.7ct
or
single 1.3ct
two .75ct
what am i looking to pay? all princess cut, all SI clarity.....

Fuck off and quit trying to portray yourself as some sort of badass. Every one of your post seems to be an attempt at enlarging your e-penis. Google it and get on with your life, why are you asking on a bodybuilding gossip forum? retard

buddy of mine owns a 'pawn shop'.. sorta.. but he's steep and doesn't come across much of what i'm looking for.. he has mostly estate jewelry (and coins).
i'm googling it, but I know there were a couple guys in the diamond/jewelry biz on here a couple years ago, which is why I asked here.

disrespectful? i think that telling you to look elsewhere from a bodybuilding forum for advice on a $20000 purchase would probably be to your benefit. and before you tell me to go back to my 'fantasy world', i'd like to point out that you've been here for three months and have racked up 1100 posts. very impressive.
uh oh, he's retaliating! better assume he plays video games ! ???

what part of disrespectfull don't you understand?
and if you can't contribute, which you obviously cannot, thinking it's a fucking $20k purchase... even RETAIL I'm not looking at more than $8k... that shows me you really are a clueless child in a mans body.

actually, I've been here for over a decade "son".
and I don't flip burgers for a living, I have a desk, and a pc, and free time between clients, and I check in here among about a dozen other places... and at home, I don't have to share my computers with my parents and siblings... so I have a computer in front of me for a good percentage of the day, if I happen to come here and bullshit, what the fuck is it to you?
are you that fucking threatened by me and my posts? are you that fucking insecure? you should like you wished you were part of the Trench Coat Mafia, but didn't have balls.... you're a wannabe kid... always hating people who do what you wished you could.

Hmm I'm no expert but maybe a good idea to stay out of the retail stores in the mall. Maybe find a diamond broker and buy direct if you can.

Costco

that's what the guy/guys said years ago, (which is why I asked here)... also had first hand knowledge of markups and wholesale prices, ect... especially price differences between diamonds a point under or point over (like 1.9ct or 2.1ct)
band/setting's i'm not worried about, that's gonna run me under 1k, even for platinum (will probably go white gold). my logic tells me that i'll get more ct's for the $ if I buy loose.... and more ct's is what i'm looking for. ideally, i'd find a 1.8-2.2ct princess cut VS... but i'd settle for SI clarity.
edit... looking online so far I've found a 2.01ct princess cut SI2 "good" cut for $4600, and a 1.71ct princess 'very good' cut SI2 for 3900, and a 1.69ct VS2 "very good" cut for 4700... ugh.. this shit is confusing.

It's good you want princess cut its 30% less than a round(the king diamond)
If your buying a nice stone like that you want it GIA certified and the serial number lazered in the stone,so when you have it cleaned you know your getting your stone back even though you will prob be able to tell it yours(the inclusions). There are other grading company's out there that are easier graders that jewelry stores will try and push on you. What ever the weaker graders grade is the stone in reality is a grade or 2 lower than what's on the paper. They do this to make you think your getting a higher graded stone for less, your really getting a lower quality stone with a generous report card
You want your stone graded excellent in polish, cut, and symmetry this is very important. Once these 3 are ALL rated excellent can you fairly compare color and clarity grades.
1st and IMHO the most important is the color. If you don't want to see yellow in the stone which I'm sure you don't the stone HAS to be D,E,or F. You Will see yellow if it's not a F or higher grade with the naked eye. Buy a smaller stone before you buy a larger yellow one. Obviously the higher the grade the better.
2nd is the clarity unless your paying 100k+ all stones will have a inclusion somewhere, the larger the inclusion the lower the score. Personally the lowest I would go here is a VS2 especially with the larger stone. The little ones you mite be able to get away with taking a lower score if they look good to the naked eye. Also try to get the inclusion on the side of the stone so you can cover it with one of the prongs that hold it to the ring ;)
Good luck congrats

Read my above post and you HAVE to look at the stones with a eye glass and the naked eye to see if it sparkles
Before you talk color and clarity, the cut ,polish, and symmetry ALL have to be graded excellent or the stone will looked fucked up even with a good color and clarity grade
Blue Nile use to be a good online source I havnt shopped diamonds for a while so I have no Idea if they still are

Also, the prices go up logarithmically with the GIA certs and the class D or higher. IIRC a class D 1ct. is north of $15k, of at least was about 10 years ago.
-
I have exactly what you're looking for. Send me $1200 via paypal and you'll get the diamond of your dreams.
-
I have read a few textbooks on diamonds. Have a look Rapaport for a guide to diamond prices. http://www.diamonds.net/
If you buy at auction you get the stone for about 1/2 retail. I wouldn't buy over the net except from a proper diamond dealer.
You don't say what you need the diamond for. Have you considered Moissanite? Looks better and not as fragile. About 1/10th the cost.
http://www.moissanitevsdiamondrings.com/differences-between-moissanite-and-diamond/
The clarity is judged by looking at the diamond with a 10 power loupe. VS2 should be fine. Think about reselling. Si not so good.
Colour that is acceptable for engagement rings is G. D, E, and F, are much more expensive. By colour M you see some faint yellow.

Too much arguing on Getbig.
Not enough holding up a jewelry store at gunpoint.

Color bro F or better (d, e, f are considered colorless) and Si1 or better. No less. Personally id go vs1 or 2 though. Resale is often so-so to poor. Fyi if u want a ring surprisingly all costco are vs2 and f (I believe), set on a platinum band

There's a link to it somewhere on his vast online nutrition empire.

at first I thought the Costco thing was a joke, then after you mentioned it, I checked it out.. they are VS2. lol.
I think i'm gonna tap into my client-book and see if any of my old wealthy lady clients have anything in the 1.2ct + range. I picked up an Omega Speedmaster off one in exchange for 3 one-hour sessions (she was gonna freakin GIVE/DONATE it to a local 'thrift store'... it was her ex-husbands. lol... )....... shit.... wait..... I gotta guy who runs a jewelry/coin ebay store (fucker's got like $3million in inventory.. for a fucking EBAY store), i'd bet a wooden nickel he'd trade steroids for a diamond solitare.... especially since he just got hosed by a doc spending $3k in Androgel. lol. shit... I can get a $6k ring for $300 worth of shit. dunno why I didn't think of this earlier.
-
I've been robbing jewelery stores for years bro. What do you need? I got a po box to send payments. Just keep this between us bro.
in that case
1.7ct (minimum) princess cut VS1 color g through j.... in an 18k white gold band if you got it.
i'll send 25 bottles of tren up front, 75 when I get the ring.
-
in that case, grab me a 2ct total weight tennis bracelet in white gold, a cannon 5d mk2, and a gsm note3. i'll throw in another 100 bottles of materon.
-
Sounds good. I'm gonna rob a few more jewelry and electronics stores tonight.
Can you get me some produce man like watermelons, oranges, apples and such you got a truck?

Im Buds with a diamond broker. He was saying regarding white gold vs platiunum: Platinum is SHIT. It's incredibly weak and damages so easy. He said the fact that the jewelry industry managed to sell the whole "platinum" concept to the general public is one of the bigger jokes of the industry. ALWAYS go white gold.
-
I wonder how you can buy a diamond without looking at it in person first. Pictures can not represent the way a well cut stone can reflect light, never pay full price either - pay cash and offer 30% less to buy it right now.
-
I buy all my wife's jewelry from an Israeli group in the Diamond District in New York. The diamonds are first class and they customize anything I want. Their prices won't be beat anywhere in the world.......I have searched

Bro you want some good ICE buy it at a big mall with numerous Jewelry stores to check out. Up here we have La Rog wich is family owned there is also freidlanders wich has some nice cutts. I would stay away from department stores and pawn shops go with Freidlanders. I am sure there are huge malls that have jewelry stores that have been owned for years by family. If you get it set in Platinum and the quality of diamond is top notch a pair of diamond earings each one weighin 1.7 grams that is close to 4 grams for the set you are looking at a easy 2,500$ for the pair and that is a deal! probably more like 3,500$-4,000$ brand new if you pay retail and don't get a discount. if you are buying top quality and they are set in platinum diamond earings are big money if top quality, but if you pay for quality you will get some earings that will blind somebody in the sun.

Well I do own a .50ct diamond earing set in platinum and it was expensive close to 1K! what else is their to know? If you want nice jewelry you have to pay nice money! otherwise you will buy a fugazi.
Some of us do not wear cubic like you do. Good diamonds are expensive, not all diamonds are the same grade. My diamond ring is a ct set and I paid 2 grand flat. Good jewelry is expensive not all of us buy it from a pawn shop or some thug with some gold on a roap shit.
-

I can't believe what a a classless shitbag you are! The guy wants to buy some nice jewelry not something that comes with no receipt or used to belong to some jerkoff like yourself. You want a memory when you buy jewelry and not one where you buy it from some asshole off the corner or buy something cheap and used from a pawn shop. You go to a family owned business that has been in business for years! Not being racist but most of the best jewelers are jewish. You sure are some asshole! you need to buy some class! sometimes money is not important to the buyer as long as they are getting a nice cutt from a reputable seller. Geez what a shitbag you are, no class at all! ESFitness has money to spend, he does not need to scoop to a low level like buying from a pawn shop or a crackhead on the corner selling fake shit. Some of us have class. My diamonds blind people, make everybody say Bling Bling!
-
I bought my diamond on Blue Nile. Great service and place to buy. All have GIA reports, etc. Also great about returns.

All I can do is laugh at you. Sorry. I love that you think the Diamond District in New York is classless jewellery. The group I deal with sells to Tiffany.

Real diamonds cost money!. You don;t have the choice to get your diamond set in platinum when you shop at new yorks diamond street market-LOL. I bet they have a gang of chain snatchers hanging out by your bank offering you that cubic shit and gold on the rope.

I'm in the Portland area too, do those stores you mention have used Rolexs? Was looking to get one but planning on going to a pawn shop since I can't afford a new one.

Yes if you go to washington square Freidlanders has Rolex's and so do a few other jewelry stores, La Rog just specializes in diamonds. Clackamas town center also has a freidlanders with nice rolexs they also have a few other stores that carry fat rolex's. Buying a rolex that used to belong to somebody else just is not special to me. I would always just buy one brand new . I prefer Gucci watches myself but the gold ones with the diamond dial you can get a nice gucci for no more then 1,200$. The rolex's are The top notch watches but buy insurance because if anything happens you don;t want to be fucked.

noooooooo! don't get any Gucci watches!!! for 1200 you can find a preowned Omega that will hold value, if not increase in value. just say NO to watches with diamonds. lol. I remember my first rolex day-date with diamond dial.. it was in the 'bling bling' era (puff-daddy style lol).. I dunno what I was thinking. I actually SOLD that watch and bought two Gucci's (bad move, but back then I wasn't watch-savvy). proper swiss watch will at the very least retain 85% of it's value, if not INCREASE in value (depending on the watch.... i.e. a 95 Rolex Daytona... shit, I believe it's 95??.. the last year they used a Zenith movement before they went to an in-house movement... ect...).
watches I know... diamonds I do not! lol... even though back in the day I used to wear diamond stud earrings. lol... (again, I was young. haha).
thanks for all the replies though.

It is all about what you like to sport, screw omegas! I would take a Gucci gold watch with the diamond dial over a Omega anyday. every watch loses value after it leaves the store. Watches are about getting the watch you want not a watch that carrys value. never sell a watch you bought. Just save up and buy a new one but always save your gucci. If omega is something you wanted more you should of bought the omega not the gucci. Screw Omega I would of kept the gucci. You probably got a cheap gucci not one of the diamond dial gold guccis those were 1998-99 bling bling era. when you buy your ice be careful your going to have to spend a good chunk of cash don;t be cheap and try to save a dollar when buying any jewelry and always know what you want, also always buy it from a retailer that gives you a receipt not some hustler who gives you a good trade for some Gear. just sell the gear and pay cash for your jewelry. alot of people get their jewelry from guys who get desperate and trade their jewels for drugs or steroids. tell them to fuck-off and buy your jewelry with your own cash and get what you want not what is a good deal. I have no idea who would take a omega over a gucci. who gives a shit about the value. everybody into fshion knows Gucci not anybody knows what the fuck omega is. just me opinion more people will be jealous over the gucci over the Omega as long as it is a top notch Gucci.

watches are a whole different ballgame.
if you buy a Gucci, you may as well be buying a fossil.
when you buy a watch, a swiss automatic, you're buying quality. watches aren't about fashion. serious watch collectors will always scoff at a watch with diamonds. (since the 'diamonds' in the watch face are usuaully just chips at 1/20ct they're not worth anything anyways).
when you spend 3k on an omega, zenith, panerai (well, panerai's gonna run you $6k+), tag, IWC, Glaschultte(sp? lol), A. Lang shone, Bell & Ross, ect.... that watch is gonna be worth the same $3k you paid for it next year, and the year after, and 5 years after that.... you spend $3k on Gucci (I dunno what Gucci cost's $3k), there's no way in hell you're gonna get more than $1k for it next week or next year (and it's probably gonna be a quartz, not automatic).
moral of the story... don't waste a $1k+ on a watch that's not a swiss automatic.

My friend owns www.dreamstone.com. Order from there, or go to his shop in the diamond district if you're ever in NYC.
