did it up big on [Canadian] Thanksgiving then fasted for 40 hours and jumped back on the galeniko diet for the rest of the week
my wife hates it when I do - says I'm mean and short tempered
definitely notice myself snapping at people and generally unpleasant to be around
guess I can't just blame it all on the testosterona
everyone else here become more of an asshole when dieting?

haha the worst is when I watch a coworker eating and tell them how to best enjoy their meal
then I'll talk about how delicious it looks, ask them how it tastes, and rage out when they say it's "okay"

thats why I dont do extreme diets like Gals..... they may be the most effective, but I cant function and turn into a complete ass.
id rather keep a moderate amount of carbs, lose it slow and steady, and not want to murder everyone around me 24/7

fresh fish,tons of salads with olive/flex oil & winegar (no dressings),black Brazilian bens,mangos & red/black grape 3x daily
no bread,no rice,no sugar,no can food,no protein powders,.................

When I hit it hard(less than 1000 calories) for too long I actually find myself doomsday prepping. Buying more MREs, ammo, and ninja gear for TEOTWAWKI. Watching survival shows and tutorials on youtube.
The body and mind go into survivalist mode. It makes sense.

Regular dieting I'll snap
Intermittent fasting diet? I fell great..I can go all day without eating and I'm good..but when I start off my day with small portions I become a complete asshole

Yeah the leaner I get the worse my mood starts getting. Lethargic, less sleep, easily irritated, lower libido etc.
It's our bodies fighting against us in the struggle for shreddedness...

I think dieting plus low carbs lowers serotonin and increases cortisol.
Does anyone elses sleep go to shit when dieting? Lower serotonin = lower melatonin at night.
I sometimes keep track of my sleep with a phone app, and normally I am in "deep sleep" about 80% of the night.
During dieting it drops to about 60%. This is not good for the mood.

What app does this?! How does it track sleep?

I become irritable. I normally cycle my carbs, so when my no carb days during the week come up, I become a dick.

When galeniko dieting without sleeping pills or xanies I would not be able to fall asleep. Doesn't matter if I hit the gym for 1 hr or 3 hr, the low cals put me in a constant adrenaline state.

I can handle 1000 cals per day no problems in terms of hunger or energy, but it does affect the sleep for me. I find that I wake up 1 or 2 hours before I am supposed to and can't get back to sleep. Also tossing and turning during the night.
I notice no difference in energy between 1000 cals per day or 3000 cals per day. I never understand when people say dieting makes them have no energy. Maybe my body regulates blood sugar really well or some shit. Then again when bulking I don't use caffeine and when dieting I add one of two cups of green tea in so maybe that helps with the energy.
Basically is like Okinawa dieting, eating 1/4 less !.
No problems with sleeping ?.

Is this just an excuse for being a cranky bitch? Everyone is hungry every now and then.

Could it be that the body needs less sleep when dieting because less energy is spent on digestion and, therefore, less energy needs to be recouped?
I find I need less sleep, too, but I don't find myself anymore tired during the day.

You've never seen 4% Bodyfat dude....come back after you've actually experienced hunger at low single digits and we can discuss what hunger feels like
