Title: Any of us meatheads bit creative?
Post by: Nomad on October 24, 2013, 02:18:05 AM
Just did this half hour ago. I was trying to get this depiction of an Enterprise derivative couple days prior but nothing like 4 am tired brings out the creativity in me.

Flame on, over 9000 hrs in ms paint.

I sketch a lot, but only by necessity. Drawing plans for building cupboards, tables, toolstations, etc. Gave up on purely artistic drawing when I was a little kid because of an unfortunate incident with my mother. They should have put it on the packet that you weren't supposed to hold them with your sphincter.

I dabble in a bit of photography.

Lobstah paints. Its something I've wanted to learn how to do for a while now. Once I get a job I'll probably go pick up some supplies.

Fabricator, I work mostly with steel. I spend a lot of time designing and prototyping, I go more functional than artistic though.

I did draw and sculpt as a kid until I was about 17-18. Never had since but I do appreciate talent when I see it.

I draw things, too.

Then I say "abracadabra!" and they become real.

I love this kit! I bought it from a sponsored drummer and it was custom made for him in CA. Dimensions are 24" x 20", 12" x 10" 16"x14"  with 13"x 6" snare.  It is and older kit with maple Keller shells all signed by Detamore. You can see the older style lugs on it.

Can't go wrong with a PP snare and the older the better when looking at maple imho.

Here is a pic of the shells in better light.

Sweet. I opted for a DW instead, kinda wish I'd gone with a Ludwig, though. Got a 24" kick, like you, kinda overwhelms everything else. Wish I had a 22", but I got what was available at the time.

You can see the huge pillow in the bass lol!  It can overpower the kit however I have found pretty good balance with the right tuning/heads. I just love the older maple kits and finding this PP was pure luck at the price point.  Since he gets them for free he lets them go pretty cheap.

How much would this or a decent guitar cost me?

Either that or I go with relearning the piano again.
