Saw it at a Drive-In in Philly when it first came out! One of  the scariest movies ever! Based on real events!

Was really disappointed when I saw it the first time as a teen. Expected a real gorefeast, but was boring as fuck and almost goreless.

True, back then they did not show a lot of blood and guts, had to use your imagination!

The new "Evil Dead" was fucking insane, has anyone seen it?

I thought I can't get disturbed or disgusted anymore by a movie, but this one got me several times to the very rare point when I asked myself "Jesus christ, why the hell am I doing that to myself" and was about to turn off (didn't do it tough of course) :D

Holy shit man, that flick is INSANE! Like I said, I've seen it all, you name it, I've seen it, but this one gives you the "fuck, just leave me alone, that's the last time I'm watching a horror flick"-feeling every few minutes. ;D

yeah man, check it out. But make sure it's the uncut version.

And watch it preferably alone at night with not one single light turned on in your aparment/house, if you want the "real" experience. ;)

No, not really. They stretched the truth quite a bit on that one. It's very loosely based on Ed Gein, the Wisconsin killer/grave robber from the 50s. The only similarity, really, is that Ed collected body parts, like Leatherface. In fact, he only killed twice, toward the end of his run. Before that, he just dug up bodies for souvenirs. But no chainsaw, and not in Texas, that's all urban legend. Psycho is a lot closer to the real story.

Great movie nonetheless.

Yeah, that's their whole "based on true events" angle. Kinda weak, really.
