I could be wrong, but I'm thinking this was filmed with the trucks actually moving forward, with JCVD starting in a Split position, and then the trucks move together at the end. Then they just play it backwards. Seems like a much safer way to do the stunt.

Check out the wheels on the truck near the end. They are barely moving. Like crawling(under 5mph) It's the camera car that is moving fast. Optical illusion...Still cool though.

They definitely sped up the frames and zoomed very slowly to make the trucks appear moving faster.
But it's still a sick commercial regardless.
Anything moving even at 1MPH up that high is still dangerous. Falling down 8 feet isn't all that scary. But the problem is if you fall, you will fall on your side becuz one foot will come off before the other. You won't be landing on both feet. Ur head could hit the truck or the pavement.

A tv show did a segment on this commercial. They actually did this stunt for but he did have a safety harness and not a net in case he slipped. They show the techs explaining the stunt to him. He looks at the guy and says, " So if I slip I'm dead." Still one of the most bad ass commercials ever.
