Obama: ‘I’m not a particularly ideological person’
11/25/13

President Barack Obama says he is not a “particularly ideological person,” but remains passionate about certain issues.

”I’m not a particularly ideological person,” Obama said Sunday during a fundraiser in Seattle. “There’s things, some values I feel passionately about.”

Listing those values, Obama included making sure that “everybody gets a fair shake” and istreated with “dignity or respect regardless of what they look like or who they are,” providing a strong defense, and “leaving a planet that is as spectacular as the one we inherited from our parents and our grandparents.”

The president added that he’s “pretty pragmatic as to how we get it,” but he hit House Republicans at the fundraiser, calling them the “impediment” to “progress and change.”

“The biggest barrier and impediment we have right now is the Congress, and in particular the House of Representatives, that is not focused on getting the job done for the American people and is a lot more focused on trying to position themselves for the next election,” Obama said.

Obama will continue his West Coast trip Monday with additional events in California.

Are you saying he is wrong or do you think a president should be ideological?
