Title: Kovacs, Nasser, Atwood- I salute you.
Post by: tommywishbone on November 26, 2013, 08:16:05 PM
When we first picked up a barbell or dumbell, all we knew was that muscles were cool. We still think they're cool. Every one of us most likely always will. Every one of us wanted to be the biggest and strongest man in the world- nothing wrong with that. We harm no one- except perhaps ourselves, in the end.

Kovacs, Nasser, Atwood, Jeep Swenson, Curtis Leffler, and all the other departed mass monsters, I salute you.

Paul was enormous- just monsterous.  His demise was most unfortunate. I think he weighed 180 when he left us, but all those years being titanic probably accelerated his death.

And Bebop, that pic is not shopped. I saw Jeep during his biggest days, on a daily basis. Absolutely stunning. He weighed in nightly on the scale at Gold's Venice- always between 390 - 410.  Always.  That is a real 25 inch arm.

Correct sir. Heroin OD.

How about Jesse Marunde who died for you bitches after a copious meal of Shepherd's pie followed by ultra heavy squats?

No diuretics here, no Nubain. Unlikely on rec drugs....  Just died at age 21 of a heart attack leaving behind a lovely wife and family.

Good thread Tommy.  I met all these guys in person in Venice Golds and they were cool people. Sad that they are gone. I was actually good friends with De Mayo and Trevor Smith in Venice and we did dinners often. And did plenty of business with Art Arwood when he had his supplement store.  RIP

Trevor and Nasser were good friends. Nasser thought very of Trevor. His death wasn't really health related however.

Trevor had a good heart.  He was obsessive with the eating, training and drugs and was a legit 402 pounds after dinner.   I saw the scale. We both laughed out loud. I think he committed suicide after his wife left him.   Very sad.

No no, I was simply guessing, only guessing that from his years of being enormous that perhaps, just perhaps, his heart and entire respiratory and cardiovascular system were not in the best of health, thus making him more suspectable to the dangers of recreational drugs. As is often the case- I am most likely completely wrong.

Not nasty at all...It is important to talk about suicide to bring it out in the light to keep others from doing the same...To pretend suicide does not exist makes the problem worse...Ofcourse Grant does not know this for a fact, but we all have thought that it might have happened right?

I thought Trevor Smith died from a brain aneurysm?  Did not know it was actually a suicide!  Fuck!  I used to e-mail with him when he had Nuclear Nutrition going.  Still my favorite supplement line ever.  He had a grape flavored gatorade-like MRP that was great.  Damn, I feel bad now that I know he killed himself.  I thought it was just a random death before.  He was a really nice guy who always replied with a lot of info and was really funny too.  Damn I miss e-mailing with that guy.  It has been a while now.

Oh yeah, I posted and had the mags.  Great stuff!  It was straight up gear info without any of the lies that the other mags wrote.  I e-mailed with Trevor at his personal email.  I started emailing with him back when he was running Biohazard USA for Paul Borresson.  Then they had their falling out and Trevor left to start Nuclear nutrition.  I liked the dude so i basically followed him to his company.  His supps were really good.  He had a solid protein powder, but my favorite was the grape MRP he had.  Damn i wish that was still available, it had 60 grams of protein, a good amount of carbs and other stuff in all MRP's.  I just loved how it tasted like gatorade or a regular carb drink but had all that protein in it.  I was truly shocked when he died.  I was not close friends with him but we had a friendship online and he was truly a good guy.  He cared and would reply in depth to any question i would ask him.  I knew his marriage was failing and it definitely changed him.  He would not write as much or often when it was going bad.  I really do miss him.  Too many good people leave the world too early.

No brain aneurysm as far as I know. Nasser met with Trevor the day before he passed. They were good friends. Trevor was devastated by his breakup. Bitch used to treat him like shit too.

No one really knew this until grant_micheals opened his dirty mouth. Not really cool, I think the family wanted to keep it quiet.

Alex, you know none of the details. I was close with Trevor and his wife. I spent a lot if time with them.  It's no secret that he may have committed suicide by overdose. It came out later in the reports.  Stop trying to cause drama.  Thats all you ever do?
