This guy is intriguing to listen to... but so full of bullshit. He is a marketing strategist and he has disabled all comments for his videos.
If anyone wants to take the time (trainers who actually want to be knowledgeable) to listen to this guy, I'd like to hear your comments.
This guy is as dogmatic as Mentzer, and as he pulls down on his machines, which in turn causes a forced negative repetition, he spews forth complete drivel about the necessity of strength training.
You will have to listen closely to what he says, probably numerous times to pick up on his B.S.
He doesn't want to be contradicted, yet he does nothing but contradict himself.
Sport-specific training is great, but somehow Gavin (?) tries to defy the need for strength training and muscular hypertrophy, or just plain "getting stronger" ~
See how much you can take and then let me know, even if it's in a PM. I'm curious to see how many people here buy into his philosophy.

This was taken right out of Marv Marinovich's training book with BJ Penn. I stopped at a :60 because I've seen portions of this before. If you want to add it into one or two days between strength days, then fine but to use it as a total training solution is something I totally disagree with.

Yours was the reply I was hoping for. If you get the time, could you PM me and elaborate a bit more. I really do like this guy, but he has the "gift of gab" and can easily manipulate people away from what is necessary.
Is it just marketing predominantly?
Obviously us trainers believe in direct application to sport specific training, but do you agree that he contradicts himself in this vid? Even if just by his actions?

Sure, I will tomorrow. I can go into some details. But no, its not all marketing and there are some good benefits to it, but like most trainers, he does want to get his system out there. It's business. A lot of this could be used as prehab exercises before strenght. We do a ton of plyos with prorioception work, just not totthat extent.
