I know 3 bodybuilders personally who died young. 1 heart attack at 48, one heart attack at 38, 1 cancer at 58. All steroid users. These are guys who did regular cardio and ate good, nutritious food.

I know of one man who died from Lupus complications at 28…never took AAS. I lost a close friend of 48 who died of liver cancer at 48. Another two died of failed kidneys. Heart failure before 60 while on the dialysis machines. Another young friend who died of heart failure at 18 while playing football. NONE took AAS. My late wife had heart, kidney, liver, heart failure and breast cancer starting in her early 50s…….

I agree. At least the posts are thematic, generally tend to marry one to the other, develop a cult of personality, and in summation, are memorable (in that they aren't like any other gimmicks).

no point... people will believe what they want to believe. True the massive abusers are killing themselves just like massive abusers of any substance including food. There is no epidemic of bodybuilders dying because of steroid use like the crazy over-reaction on the boards would have you believe.

steroids were at first used to ease the pain of cancer and other ilnesses patients we knew were condemned to die so the cons of the treatment werent thought as so bad. Steroids are also used on... animals meant to be slaughtered for consuption or once they cant win anymore -horses-. That s what they were intended for. Any human use if you re not ill and condemened, is going to hurt your body, cause nature didnt design us that way, as simple as that. We re not meant to have fucked up chemical balance due to abnormal external amount of hormones imported into the body just like we re not meant to eat too much for decades in order to build "as much muscle as possible". All of this is not healthy, it s exreme and destroying your body faster than it would by aging naturally. Only natural weight lifting and eating enough but not too much is healthy. Just look at asians who work manual jobs for decades and stay lean only eating rice and some meat once or twice a week, no wonder they often reach the 90s.

You ignore the warning signs until your shitting and pissing blood a bit more often then what you normally do. By then it's almost too late.

People overcoming odds doesn't minimise the risk of an activity. If something is risky, it's risky, regardless of how many people overcome the odds. We can all find examples of people who drank, smoke and abused themselves and lived to 100 years old. This doesn't mean drinking and smoking doesn't carry a risk associated with it's use. Same with jumping out of planes or driving 160mph, many people participate in such activities and never come to harm, others don't. You may well be one of the lucky ones who gets away with taking risks. But pretending an activity isn't risky won't improve your chances, and it is a typical psychological defensive technique employed by those who indulge in risky behaviour. If you must take risks, best to acknowledge the risk and find the best ways possible to minimise it. Life carries a lot of inherited risk, ideally it's best to avoid unnecessary ones, like taking dangerous drugs for vanity reasons. JMO.

well it depends on the dosages used. I do agree guys like Bostin Lloyd and some other younger guys who just shoot anything in a vial are going to have some very serious health problems for years and will probably die before they turn 50,some guys just use HRT amounts of steroids and will live good quality lives. everybody is not perfect. I don't think steroids will hurt users who get bloodwrok done and use safe steroids that come from a pharmacy. I do think there are way to many guys out there shooting dirty gear or gear that is underdosed. Steroids are made for a reason and if used properly nobody is gonna die from using them properly. Steroids just go with bodybuilding. I rather be addicted to using steroids then drugs.

Allright, lets start with the heart. Steroids enlarge you heart and make your blood thick with haemoglobin.
There is a place called Ladakh, in India. The natives there have an avg heamoglobin count of more than35 and havr the largest hearts in the world, naturally. They dont die from big hearts and thick blood.
Liver.
1gm of rat's liver can digest 1 gm of testosterone. How big is yours atleast 100gm( you are not a midget, right?). So you will not die from 100/200/300/400/500/1000/50000 gm of test per week.

The only people who die from steroid use are the fools who never stop using them and use them in the highest dosages possible. I think the real problem is dosages, 60s bodybuilders are still all healthy, 90s bodybuilders are already dying.

Not in the west... the kids put you in a nursing home as soon as you can no longer take care of yourself, that is unless you are uber-rich :) and can afford to hire a nursing agency for 24hrs care... Yes your family will visit, sometimes even visit everyday for an hour or two, but the truth is you'll spend the rest of your life around strangers who dont care about you at all and are there to collect a paycheck just look around at the spike in nursing homes and assisted living facilities since the 60's now that the baby boomers are getting old and community life has gone to shit... that is what you get. Daycare for toddlers and old folks...
so no the real winner is not the guy lyin in bed shitting himself, unable to even turn by himself and relying on strangers to take care of him.. nope I dont see that as winning. If you do, well I hope you do get to that point.. personally I would hope to die before I get there.

I understand as i thought about it myself. The key is having a real family that allow you to live in your own house, visits you when both parties truly feels like it and to have a stable couple and love each others as long as possible and show the example. The families you re talking about are not the kind of family i respect or plan to have. They exist tho. But why are they that way? These people treat their parents that way for a reason. Prolly cause their parents raised them the same way. Also, you have as an individual, to accept changes and that no, you wont always be 19 y/o... if you only cared about yourself your kids now adults will only care about themselves. If you genuinely cared about them they ll genuinely care about you.

Lol - and you papers hours a day on a site called Getbig - you envy so intensely those that are larger than you and feel so pathetic in real life that you have to come to an anonymous website and post things that you WISH you could believe and that you could never say in person because of the laughter your little physique would cause. The fact that even tiny you have no definition frustrates you further an causes you to feel even less a man. I know a 74 year old man on HRT (which is all anyone needs) and I guarantee you that his training would shame you and your wife (if you have one) would sadly tell you that she wishes you had his physique . That must be depressing - I do not understand the lack of confidence and self loathing that would cause a man to be so pathetic as to spend his days living in an internet fantasy land.. Use the web for gaining knowledge and maybe a few minutes of entertainment but good grief get some counseling man. You may be weak in body and mind but you CAN improve - don't give up on yourself. This post has take far too much of my time but when I see these sad little guys posts every single time I check out this site it disgusts me. We all gotta die sometime. Some want to live as long as possible at any cost and some want to live as long as their bodies are fit and capable. The way I see things I would rather live to 65 and have lived life on the terms I choose than to live to 100 not pursuing what drives me. For some being huge and muscular is on the top of their list of motivators and if that means their life expectancy is cut short I am certainly not going to judge them.
