Title: VINCE BASILE IS BUILDING A NEW BICEP MACHINE
Post by: The Abdominal Snoman on December 13, 2013, 09:44:27 AM
There were trucks seen outside Vince's gym dropping off a part for what looks like will be part of Vince Basile's new bicep/rocket machine.

Pics below

I would fly down to vince gym just to workout on that machine.

No need. He'll fly straight to your gym and give an hour long talk about hypertrophy and how he personally landed his bicep/rocket on the moon before the American's "allegedly" did in the 60s...

I think Anaboldichalo should be the 1st one to try that biceps machinery  ;D

This new advanced machinery combined with exciting break throughs in the theory of hypertrophy shall render PEDS largely obsolete in the coming years.

A bicep machine is not a bicep machine without a Flux Capacitor.

Despite his claims, Vince can not fly.

I guess that's a motor for a ship?

A small ship, if you can believe it. A friend of mine is Chief Engineer on one of those Maersk container ships and the pistons in those engines are the size of this motor.

Edit: likely wrong...

This is a Maersk motor. Looks the same.

Vince is a strange strange guy, perhaps even creepy in his own way, but very intelligent. That bicep machine seems very well designed and engineered.

Vince is okay. He marches to his own drummer and flings a lot of shit on here, but that's because people do the same to him. I'm no friend of his, but I don't hate him, and I never liked when guys got on him with the pedo accusations. He doesn't deserve that.

He and Keith were buddies. Keith would never befriend an asshole - even just online.

How come Arthur Jones was a shrimp? Why was Gary Jones a pudgy guy with all those Hammer Strength machines he made? Seriously, what Vince accomplished with that machine is some serious engineering. A bicep machine with resistance when you supinate twisting the grip that was talked about for ages during exercise machine development.

Vince has said he completely stopped training after he tore his bicep back in the 70's.
Only trained sporadically for short periods since then. That's what I gather from what he's written on here.

He must not enjoy training or bodybuilding really. Seems like he's mostly into welding machines and constructing training theories. Doesn't even train people.

We hang a lot of shit on him, but to be fair to VB it's quite easy to look at something and then tell the guy "Hey, you know what you shoulda done?"  Working from the ground up is a whole different story and I could see simple bio movements becoming surprisingly complex to translate mechanically.  I'm sure he's had a lot of 'shoulda' ideas of his own since then that would pare down the complexity of it.  I shudder to think what he spent on machining, and I think some more headscratching time on design and discovery of mechanical principles would have paid dividends for him, but I still respect that he went out and did it.

Tbh, I reckon simply holding a dumbell off center is the best solution but that's just one flotsam's opinion.
