Noted Powerlifter and former Musclemag columnist died in an auto wreck earlier this week. He had been asked about here a few weeks back - http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/newsobserver/obituary.aspx?n=christopher-confessore&pid=168487845&fhid=16929 .

Killed by the iron, not a great way to die for a powerlifter...
Lift in peace

RIP. Used to like reading his column in Musclemag back in the day.
-
This is going to sound terrible, but I was relived that he didn't die in a hospital bed, tied to a dialysis machine while fighting a hepatic lymphoma through chemo.

RIP!

Sad news...RIP...

Just curious, does anyone have any clips of his benching. Ive heard positive and negative things about his lifts. Either way sad news RIP

I know of him. He owned a Carpet Cleaning Business near Raleigh. Everything I have heard about him was always positive.

TA, I presume you're not experiencing the same level of distance toward his death, as you did DA's.
Speak on this. :)

I spoke with Chris weekly when I was an editor at MuscleMag, as I was in "charge" of putting his column together. Real friendly and helpful guy.
This is horrible news. :(

I remember his columns...they were great.

Damn! He was one of my idols when I first started out. I remember he answered one of my questions in his Musclemag column about my bench. At that time he told me I needed to open a hardcore gym since we did not have any in the area. It only took me 18 years to take his advice. He was a great guy and an awesome bencher!!!

May God rest his soul.
-
Sorry to hear this !!! He was a BEAST of a presser !!!

23 minutes in or so. This video has him, Inzer, Lain, and a bunch of older lifters. This fellow's channel also has a lot of Power meets from the mid 80's - 90's -
