hey guys
this is a problem that i've been noticing. my thighs are too damn thick. where it sometimes gets in the way of doing some exerize like barbell rows. i've really noticed it to day. when i was doing incline rear raise. my inner thighs was burning from my inner thighs rubbing against the bench...... its a feeling that i've never felt before. what should i do about my thighs getting to big?? i've read that ppl that have big legs or legs that grow fast should stop training legs or train it less often then other muscle group.. i might not be the heaviest squater but im like a more lower body monster..

Cut back on the mid rep range heavy squats. Try to do more extensions and high rep leg presses narrow, hehe. If I know anything I don't know for sure :).

Maybe high reps low weight on legs from now on?

I would suggest the opposite...higher reps seem to build more mass on legs. I would suggest reps around 5, ever look at a powerlifters legs...they certainly are alot smaller than their strength would lead you to believe

Yes but...big ASS might be the other thing that could happen.

1 mile run-run, not jog, 5 times a week. Legs'll come down.
Weight work should be avoided. At most, some high-rep hacks: 20-25 reps.

Had a similar problem, my legs responded really well to nothing more than a few sets of squats and some leg presses each week....didnt have to go heavy either, just look at the squat rack and they grow. My upper body sadly doesnt respond the same, particularly my arms and i started to look bottom heavy....had to buy trousers with a large waist just to get my thighs in them so i took drastic action and didnt train legs directly at all during 2005.
It worked really well, obviously i've lost some size from my legs and it tooks months before i stopped feeling 'guilty' about not training legs but deadlifts on back day seems to have stopped them shrinking away to nothing and now my upper body has caught up, end result is a more balanced physique and trousers that fit properly now.

If you aren't planning on competing then build the most massive legs you can possibly build!

I might compete down the line sometime.

I second that.
If you have really good legs, then try to build them into real big fcukers.
Don't be a wanker.

Why?.....it looks fucking stupid, keep it all in proportion i say.

No average person is going to look at his legs and say "Oh my... your quad developement is way too unproportional to your upper body. You look horrible"
-
If you want to keep the leg strength advancing but the size with-in limits, than might try 3X3's. Even higher reps (20-25) can increase leg muscle size. Didn't mention about you leg biceps or calves but if they do need attention than now's the time to focus on them and just hold the size of the quads.
I have a problem finding paints that fit well (with a 36" waist), that allow room for my legs and calves. Even the fat boy/loose stretch jeans (no way with Levi's or Wrangler's) don't work. If your thinking of hugh legs than you might consider trying to buy a better quality pant fit ($$$) when the legs become too big. Platz, back in the day, must have had to have custon pants made or wore those BB'ing clown pants all the time. Good Luck.
