Title: Anyone choosing their mate on genetic breeding potential?
Post by: El Diablo Blanco on January 09, 2014, 09:02:04 AM
Most people marry the women they "fall in love" with without any regards on genetic matching and potential children they may have.  How many of you look at a woman based on her genetic history more for breeding potential than just love?

Don't we all, indirectly? The traits that are typically found attractive in both sexes are simply our biological imperative weeding out the weak and unfit.

But if you are asking about an ancestor survey and a genome scan, then no.

Well, as you grow older, you tend to become more cynical, realistic and you start to assess other qualities in your woman than when you were in your 20s.

You tend to learn more and more about women (at least you think), and know what to avoid and what to look for in an optimal mate.

The "Big Love"-feeling is not as important anymore, but more about the potential of a future / good mother for your offspring etc

I chose who I dated/married based on attractiveness/genetics (I am a proponent of eugenics). From there you fnd who you love and marry.

Absolutely - after some time one knows the basic type of optimal partner.

And she was valedictorian of her high school and almost her college.  Double D's didn't hurt either.

I saw my wife in a bar walking with her girl friends. She had tree trunk thighs and a back made for deadlifting cars. She walked up to me and picked me up putting me on the bar saying to her girlfriends, "Look at the muscles on this hottie."  I'm still a little afraid of her.
