This Guy Is One Of The Richest Men In China, And He Has The Most Epic Business Card Of All Time
Environmental tycoon and philanthropist Chen Guangbiao, one of the richest men in China, recently announced that he would like to buy The New York Times for a couple of billion dollars.
Though the Times has so far declined to even negotiate the purchase, the Grey Lady’s impression of Chen will undoubtedly change after the paper sees Chen’s English-language business card.
The credentials listed on Chen’s business card, obtained by Business Insider, read like a second grader’s attempt at creating a resume.
Some of the listed achievements include being named “China Moral Leader,” “China Earthquake Rescue Hero,” and even “Most Influential Person in China.”
Yet the card fails to mention Chen’s most distinguishable and likable quality: according to Gothamist, Chen is also an accomplished singer and usually begins his press conferences with a song.
Chen reportedly offered to buy the Times for $1 billion on Tuesday morning, but by the end of the day he had increased his offer to $3 billion.
These prices seem a tad fishy considering Chen’s personal wealth is estimated at around $740 million. Then again, it doesn’t really matter if he can make those billions appear or not because, let’s face it, the Times isn’t going to be selling anytime soon — especially to the “Most Well-Known and Beloved Chinese Role Model.”
