Hey all, im a college student and im off from break in a couple of days which means...back to cafeteria food. This first semester i kinda pigged out and what not, but i really had no choice since alls they really serve is junkfood. Besides the salad bar not a damn thing there is healthy. i got my protein powder and my supplements but was wondering what i could do about the real meals i need. I am on a more than tight budget, and my job is back home so i got no income (except the occasional poker game). Any advice?

Couple things I did in college;
1) Got a Foreman grill
2) The salad bar, at the cafeteria, load up on the boiled eggs
3) Cans upon Cans of tuna (very cheap)

Bring your own food

Yep, get a part time job and make ur own food. I'm at Uni also. I work and feed myself. I've been lucky that I had some money saved before I went to Uni though.
Good luck.

Get albacore, or chicken in a can. Little more pricey, but better tasting.
-
Foreman grill, buy a bag of chicken breasts from the store, for like $8, then get a small fridge with a freezer.
-
You could always try canned Salmon. I hate tuna also but when Salmons on sale I stock up.

what kind of slamon did you get....one time i tried it and it had bones in....i ate it but god i hated it.

I'm in my last semester of college now ( :o), haven't lived in a dorm in 2 years but definitely remember what it's like.
here's what i did sophomore year:
Bought from the store Sweet Potatos and Oatmeal. Tons of that.
I stole grilled chicken breasts from the cafeteria (every 2 days) and kept them in my refrigerator. I also bought Optimum Whey in bulk, even if you use it often it's only like 35 bucks a month. Pretty much the only three things i ate were salads in the cafeteria, grilled chicken and sweet potatos, and oatmeal mixed with protein powder. It really worked, and i did all that on less than 100 dollars/month.

ha, only prob is my schools cafe is so lame that it doesn't even have grilled chix breast, no joke. and the salad bar doesn't even have hard boiled eggs all the time
