Title: WWE Network: Would You Pay For It?
Post by: Thin Lizzy on January 19, 2014, 11:57:11 AM
At this time, no.

The one show I catch, Raw, is still on cable, I never order PPVs, and I have no interest in watching matches of yesteryear.

That said, if Raw was no longer on cable and only on the Network, $10 is pretty good considering you would get all the PPVs.

My guess is that it will get off to a slow start but in the long run be a winner, as this is where entertainment content is going, a la carte.

No I wouldn't pay for it. Seems since Vinnie Mac bought WCW and ECW and has a monopoly on the market that the quality of product has taken a dive. I don't know if it will ever have another boom time again?

True.

The last time the wrestling was good was at least ten years ago.

Yeah, they're gonna have to go after a young crowd, as us old farts aren't gonna exert the effort to get the product. PG might turn into G.

I'd like to find out more details before making a decision. If I could afford to spend more time watching it, I would be more likely to purchase it.

I'm pretty retarded when it comes to this stuff but can I get a subscription through Xbox live?

Haven't had cable for quite some time and ain't looking to go back.

YouTube also proves to have a surprisingly meaty content of classic footage.

IMO, if the network is to succeed, it will be bacause of fresh content. Not enough people are are gonna pay a monthly fee for a wrestling oldies channel. As Montague pointed out, there is already plenty of that on youtube.

Whether they'll be able to provide enough of that content is the 64k question.

The old man had better plan on offering everything in his library!

I just don't think that's enough. Wrestling is more Soap Opera than Sitcom. Reruns don't do as well.

I agree.  I think a way to make it work would be to run it weekly in order by the dates/storylines.  Wouldnt work for everything but I would like it.  Especially uf he airs old regional stuff.

Yes! I have mentioned this before about the old ECW footage. Can you imagine reliving all the mid-Atlantic stuff chronologically?

Title: Anyone getting WWE Netowork
Post by: littleguns on January 31, 2014, 02:58:53 AM
So on the fence but in hindsight it seems like a good deal...

$10/month, 6 month commitment BUT you supposedly get all the PPV's for free plus all the additional content.

Not sure how you could stream it to your TV unless you plug in laptop....there isn't an App for Xbox/PS/Roku as of yet....

For achieving s and reruns id rather pop in dvds.
