my main guy at my yard wearing out $100 boots out every 4-5 months......
must have steel toes....
-
Chippewa Loggers. It took me 5 years to break mine in and then the damn dog took one of them out. I am on year 2 of breaking in the next pair.
-
$100 boots
What do you expect from $100 boots ??? that's pretty good , don't be a cheap fuck .
-
Construction worker boots are the best quality-wise. Design-wise, well, you do look like a construction worker, but this is not a thing to be ashamed of. 8)

Georgia loggers.

My bates Marine Corps combat boots seemed nearly indestructible.
Lulz.
-
I have a pair of bates, pretty comfortable and well built. If I had to go with steel toe boots I would pick Red Wings though.
-
SHOCK, I've worn USMC issues for a good number of years and never realized that they had a labeled brand name, (BATES).
ANd I never knew that the boots I got for free whenever I needed a pair ... were so damn expensive.
My originals held water like a pond and it wasn't until we got to Nam when we got a new issue that let the water out.
Were you issued the boots with the webbing on the sides? Do they even still make them kind today?
I gotta check the web and get a new pair for old times sake.
Semper fi, Shock! Semper Fi!
-
Good deal right here

Thanks, SOUL! Gonna order a pair today.

The BEST boots hands down - but pricey - are White's, Nick's, Wesco, Viberg or Drew's - they are all pretty much the same, some have a higher arch or minor differences, but you CAN'T go wrong with any of them - but PRICEY !

I have never killed a pair of Red Wings. Great boots!
-
Red Wings. If you can find a local dealer, buy them there. They take very good care of you and the boots you buy, making sure of a good fit. Even oil them up, from time to time, for you. Any flaw in the workmanship, will replace with no questions asked.
A friend use to do heavy squat workouts in his army boots (Zipper on the sides airborne boots) and really liked them. Also regular GI issue boots would also be good for heavy squatting.

Redwings - one of the higher end models.
Thorogood makes great boots, but flys a bit under the radar -

Those would be the brands I'd look at. They make them both in soft or steel toe.

Redwing or LaCrosse http://www.lacrossefootwear.com/performance/work/leather/
-
Thorogood, quality boots, made in the USA.
-
Any boot with that thick rubber piece over the toe cap seems to last longer.

X2. Aka Lacrosse, same company.

These boots have to take an unbelievable amount of abuse
-
Bates Delta-8's were great but last 10 months in A-Stan..friggen heartbroken. The back blew out. I guess I can get them re-stitched. Oakley's are junk..lasted 3 months in Iraq. I had a pair of Chippewa's in the Marines...their mountaineering/ski boots. Great in cross country ski's. I wear 511's..lightweight and fine for stateside mild use. Buy one good pair..for whatever you use them for.
-
Redwing hands down are the best and they offer free replacement strings and a shoe shine when needed, also they offer 6 no warranty
-

Where I work you have no choice but to wear steel toes. It's a site rule. Everybody has to wear them. Janitorial and office staff as well.
There are special boots made for the low temps such as -45 but they run at least $300.00. Most companies here reimburse for steel toes however.
-

I have never killed a pair of Red Wings. Great boots!
This, although now I am wearing Carolina waterproof steel toes now, and they are very comfortable. They are only a month old so I am not sure how they hold up. Also, Tedim, do you provide the boots for your guys?

For my main guy.....yes, boots, work clothes and lunch twice a week ;D
He's also a Jr. partner.....he built the business, earned it. Company truck, gas, insurance, cell phone him and wife.....I take care of mine!

I've always like wolverine boots. Solid boot, break in doesn't take forever. I used these when I was in concrete many years back and also used them for hiking and hunting. If I remember correctly, besides steel toe they are also lined with Kevlar along the bottom so nails can't penetrate the bottom of your foot.
Decent upper middle ground boot

You want the absolute best in indestructibility, take it from me, they are Wesco Boots. There is not a boot on the market more durable. Well worth the money. I know a timber and lineman who has had his for 35 years.

Ah, someone who knows a thing or two about a thing or two!
Wesco quality is unmatched and they are built for life. They will outlast the owner.

Oh brother. ::)
I don't know what you do for a living but some of us work in an industry where steel toes are the ONLY footwear one can wear.....even in an administration position.
Guess what TA....you're not the only one "in the know". ::)
