Talks are so far on that ive read several rumoured reports stating theres a chance that, if creative sort out his angle, he could appear at the Rumble. If thats the case then they cant throw him into the match as Batista is winning it, would ruin any chance they have to build him up.
I would prefer they caught a glimpse of him in the rafters - imagine if JR was on commentary that would sell it incredibly. "Wait....WAIT A MINUTE! OH MY GOD....THATS...THATS.... .THATS STING!!! STING IS HERE!" Michael Cole sucks donkey balls at commentating, its awful. Then introduce him as the man fated to end the streak, the last stand of WCW against the titan of WWE.
On a side note theyre looking at using him as "The Man Called Sting" - i cant be the only one to remember that entrance music ha ha
-
Yes! I mentioned this in another thread: have him reprise the WCW/nWo "Crow" gimmick he did for a year. That is the perfect way to bring him in.
-
If he gets a spot on the card, it's not because of fan interest or drawing power, as evidenced by the sparse crowds at TNA live shows, it's because he has a lot of friends high up on the WWE totem pole.
-
TNA itself wasnt a good measure of his appeal i dont think, the company is so much smaller and garners limited interest regardless of who was wrestling. If he gets on the card he'll have earned it by looking at what hes done for the industry. Its him or one of the clowns you see every week on Raw and i know who i would rather pay to see.

Exactly...
The valedictorian of summer school is still the valedictorian.
-
It seems that I also heard rumor of him and Taker. I'm all for him coming I with the Crow gimmick. Anything would be better than the bubblegum bullshit they're doing.

If Sting does appear, who, then, becomes the best wrestler never to work for MacMahon?

Can you count TA with his shortened career.
Koloff maybe... I did always like him a lot.

Karl,
Did your dad ever work for McMahon?
If not, he'd be up there.
Vern Gagne, as far as I can tell, never worked for Vince or his father.
-
He was always against the WWE especially since the miss use and burial of former NWA WCW stars. Again...money is talks but I doubt it.

When Sr was running things promotors back then would send guys all over to help each other out. My dad worked for Sr a few times, nothing major.
At one point he was offered a job by McMahon via Samartino , but at the time he was making really good money working for Watts So he didn't go.
81 or 82 as he was winding down he had another opportunity but was ready to hang up the trunks. My brother was just born and I would soon follow and he didn't want to miss out with his second fam like he did the first. Shit he was also 50 years old too.
That being said he use to say it was a huge mistake not ever going to NY.

Samoa Joe.

He would've been a good heel for Bruno, and had a history with Pedro Morales.
That said, the heels never hung around for long. They'd have a match with Bruno, if McMahon thought the match could sell out the Garden again, there would be an encore, usually a Texas Death Match. Then the heel would be gone and someone else would appear on the scene.

Perhaps a Blade Runners reunion is in order?

Good! Then, you can both be our own "Spirit Squad!"

All kidding aside...I think you have a better chance of seeing hell freeze over than Sting signing with WWE.

$$$$ is the only thing that matters to people.
As with Bruno, Bret, and Hellwig, it's only a matter of time for Borden.

Rob Feinstein has categorically stated Sting has signed with WWE, but will NOT be at Mania as Brock will be looking to end the streak.
His source is apparently someone that has never given him false information and is a presence within WWE. He believes Sting will debut on RAW after Mania, and will work PT until being inducted into the HOF next year.
More to follow i guess......

Take it with a grain of salt. Thats what WWE has been saying for the last five years. Plus I cannot see Vince signing a 47 year old guy who commands a big salary. Also Sting never showed interest in WWE.

DOES HIS STYLE EVEN PLAY INTO WWE STYLE OR FAN BASE.
-
Sting's actually 54, but a mobile 54 and still a big draw. Multiple sources are now saying the deal is done, am waiting for WWE to make the official announcement before i commit to anything else.

The fans know who he is and our generation would love to see him in there, he could match anyone for a short run and fit in well. Im hoping it comes off.

In the grand scheme of things ,sting should in nwa hall of fame if it existed,or von erichs in world class ,,in an old school thinkings it is sad all the territories are gone and its just wwe .too his credit its nice vince does the hof for 'all wrestling'past and present .I guess its all tied in in the end..
-
All Vince needs is a physical HOF and it would be complete. A couple of weeks ago it was rumoured that the WWE were considering building it in Universal Studios - can you imagine the reaction by TNA lol.
-
By monopolizing the industry, Vince killed wrestling. Wait four to five years from now and mark my words...territories will be back.

I'm not sure I agree. The WWE has changed wrestling forever. Along with the fans have changed too. As new generations of fans emerge, the old way of wrestling will be gone with the old fans. The new fans, such as all the kids are more excepting in to the PG bullshit that they are producing. It's no longer wrestling its sports entertainment. Do I like it? Fuck no! But that's the way it is. ROH might be as good as your gonna get.

Thats just it. I think wrestling will be reduced to ROH type territories. 1,000 max crowds or studio wrestlng.

I marked out when the Fed inducted Abdullah the Butcher, considering he never worked for a McMahon.

I would give them credit if they would keep it up and take it back to that age, but they have to be consistent which would mean keeping ALL of the McMahons off the camera FOREVER.
Which we all know they are NOT going to do.
