Title: With prospect of losing the Senate, clowninchief threatens with imperialism
Post by: dario73 on January 28, 2014, 06:44:55 AM
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama will work with Congress where he can and circumvent lawmakers where he must, his top advisers warned Sunday in previewing Tuesday's State of the Union speech.

Obama faces a politically divided Congress on Tuesday and will use his annual address to demand expanded economic opportunity. Absent legislative action, the White House is telling lawmakers that the president is ready to take unilateral action to close the gap between rich and poor Americans.

"The president has sort of hung out on the left and tried to get what he wants through the bureaucracy as opposed to moving to the political center," said Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the GOP Senate leader.

Added Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky.: "It sounds vaguely like a threat, and I think it also has a certain amount of arrogance."

That is the same retard who said that the GOP needed to take a back seat in 2009.

So from the beginning he initiated the animosity.

Now that he sees the possibility of a tougher road ahead to get his destructive progressive agenda in place, he resorts to acting as an imperial president.

The mask is now completely off.

I remember libtards calling Bush out for the same thing. Where are the libtards now?

"We've got this Constitution, we've got this whole thing about separation of powers," Obama continued. "So there is no shortcut to politics, and there's no shortcut to democracy."

The reality isn't so simple. Obama, a former constitutional law lecturer, was once skeptical of the aggressive use of presidential power. During the 2008 campaign, he accused President George W. Bush of regularly circumventing Congress. Yet as president, Obama has grown increasingly bold in his own use of executive action, at times to controversial effect.

The president (or his administration) has unilaterally changed elements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA); declared an anti-gay-rights law unconstitutional; lifted the threat of deportation for an entire class of undocumented immigrants; bypassed Senate confirmation of controversial nominees; waived compliance requirements in education law; and altered the work requirements under welfare reform. This month, the Obama administration took the highly unusual step of announcing that it will recognize gay marriages performed in Utah – even though Utah itself says it will not recognize them while the issue is pending in court.

Early in his presidency, Obama also expanded presidential warmaking powers, surveillance of the American public, and extrajudicial drone strikes on alleged terrorists outside the United States, including Americans – going beyond Mr. Bush's own global war on terror following 9/11. But more recently, he has flexed his executive muscle more on domestic policy.

If he looses both houses...and the Repubs have some balls, they'll impeach his ass. Not much he can do if the Repubs hold all of Congress. He really needs to learn to try and communicate with Repubs..its only been 5 years but come on Barry, you are not king.

Impeachment?  Not likely.  Do you know how many votes that'd require in the Senate?  (Wikipedia says 2/3's.)

I have never seen anything  like this, where a president openly declares, both thru his outlets (Carney) and personally even, that he is going to 'bypass congress' wherever he can and pass his agenda thru executive order alone.

I mean, here we have a president openly repeating that he is 'not going to wait for congress' to pass his agenda..that he fully and openly intends to subvert democracy, that when  there is little or no support for his agendas, and congress does not pass it, HE WILL ACT PERSONALLY to make it happen anyways, because he 'knows what is best for the american people'

It is unreal. He has literally said this, personally, and virtually no one seems to care. This country is fucked

HEHEHEHEH!!

The liberal morons are OK with that half retard imposing his own messed up ideological views but it wasn't OK for Bush.

Terms like "he won on points" are pretty stupid.

The Constitution, order and legality are the ones that are supposed to win.

America is supposed to benefit from all this, not just one person.

He needs to go to jail

Would you agree, realistically, that in the next 3 years, we will never see any of the following:

1) Obama impeached
2) obama or holder impeached for F&F
3) Anyone go to jail for benghazi

??
