It is a method of working out with the goal of drawing as much attention to yourself as possible.

CF is like reverse-Fight Club, the first rule is you never shut the fuck up about CF.

so if you see someone in vibrams, queer socks to the knees, warming up 45 minutes to do a few shitty squats

he is not necessarily a crossfitter if he doesnt talk about crossfit?

Cross fit is a brand. People enter it thinking it will give them the ultimate functional, physical development. Then the injuries pile up, and they actually become less athletic, more restricted due to these injuries. The fitness industry is all about marketing. Look at Mentzer's Heavy Duty training. Mostly all wrong but popular when Mike was pushing it.

Had a guy approach me and try to get me to come to his crosfit class. He said this " its about being able to get out of a burning building if a beam has fallen on your leg".
I mean how fukn often does that happen?

Most of the big timers in powerlifting and weightlifting(oly) have sold out to crossfit. One day you'll sell out too, Coach. And we'll be here to point out how much of a sell out you are.

Sorry bro but it's true. With big sponsors like Reebok and the 'sport' making it on national tv - crossfit is what the market demands.

Coach won't sell out to Crossfit.  So much of what they do is wrong and dangerous. He would have to turn his back on his strength and conditioning training knowledge. Insurance would become a bitch as well.

It hurts- because it's true.  :(

Too bad he focuses on the effects crossfit has had on weightlifting rather than crossfit the sport itself.

Crossfit has helped weightlifting grow in America.

Yes, good for weightlifting. Now if you just had a competent training program with crossfit it mightnit be getting the criticism its getting. People were lifting weights loooooong before crossfit.

My favorite thing about crossfit is looking at the stats of the top 5 guys in the "sport"

These guys are the gods of the whole thing and the most invested has done it less than 5 years

Rich froning won his first reebok world championship in his first year of crossfit...which kinda shows that the training doesn't really matter..

And none of the top 5 really follow an actual crossfit routine...so crossfit gets shown the door even more

I just dont really get the idea of wanting to be the best at exercising.

I can see people competing in BB to look the best. Obviously

I can even see fat fucking nasty powerlifters competing to be the strongest.

I cant see wanting to be the best at exercising. Most of them look like shit. except for the top5 that are pin cushions. Wearing bandanas to cover their fucked off hairlines from all the gear.

I have been working out in a similar fashion since way before it was called crossfit..but only for morning cardio and work training purposes...strength work in the pm....

But if you don't have a specific reason to train this way I wouldn't recommend it at all

this is funny because

it confirms crossfitters dont have a clue what part of the foot is supposed to take most of the load

i do think it's a fact crossfit is bringing more attention to weightlifting

however i think it's mostly the wrong type of attention
