if done in a smith machine they should be pretty safe
what do you think of them? and what are some technique pointers when really trying to build the triceps, not the chest
?
thanks

I think you've got zero genetic potential. Arms are small and stringy. You'll attain a landscaper's physique at best.

it is same, superior or inferior to close grip bench press?
should you do both in the same workout or is that too much of a good thing?
i'm gonna do arms nothing but arms today
triceps biceps brachialis forearms
-
Haven't done them in two years...all closegrip work twice per week now. But I do DB floor presses with the same movement/position as the reverse. I think they worked ok when I did them maybe every 4th tri workout.
-
Anthony Clark used to bench 700 with a reverse grip.

i'm gonna hit the tricepts today with

It won't work the triceps any harder than a regular bench press, assuming grip width remains constant on supination versus pronation.
Here's where the myth comes from.
When you pronate your grip (overhand), you more actively engage the pectorals - particularly the sternocostal head. The clavicular head is also engaged - hence, why people say bench pressing is a good all around pec builder.
However, when you supinate your grip, the sternocostal head is less actively engaged. The clavicular head, of all things, actually is preferentially recruited versus the sternocostal head (so yes, flat reverse grip benching is one way to help target upper pecs).
So, relatively speaking, pound for pound, a reverse grip bench will engage FEWER pec fibers than a pronated grip bench press. Does that make it a better triceps builder? No. But it does make it a LESS EFFECTIVE pec builder.
It's just the logic that got scrambled here.
Don't believe me? Hold your arm up in front of you, and grasp your triceps. Now, pronate, then supinate your arm. Feel the triceps flex differently? No, you didn't. That's because triceps aren't preferentially recruited when arms are supinated or pronated. So reverse versus regular benching doesn't help activate triceps more or less. It's just more or less (or different) pec involvement.

Close grips work much better that reverse grip!
-
ok so it's like a gimmick?
regular close grip it is then!

Kind of.
People assumed that because reverse grip benches didn't engage more pecs than regular benches, that de-facto, they must be better triceps builders. They aren't.
You load up 85% of your 1RM on regular benches and push yourself, you'll stimulate your triceps just as much as if you loaded up 85% of your 1RM on reverse benches.
But, your shoulders will be engaged differently, and do will your pecs. So they're not a gimmick or useless. It's just that lifting bro-science has taken the real science, and kind of perverted it. Like we bodybuilders are known to do from time to time.

Pull over presses are one of the best things that you can do for triceps. Lee Haney himself preached this back when I worked out in his gym in Atlanta.

Your delts are COVERED LOL and your on a shit dose.

I've talked to a couple of very strong benchers that swore by them.
Why not just throw them in the rotation for a couple weeks and see what happens
-
Choose exercises that don't hurt your joints so you can keep training
Size and shape comes from drugs and genetics not magic exercises
I could dip more 500 for full reps , close grip 315 for 8x8 paused, etc but my tris are my worst bodypart. Flat and shapeless and uber shit looking arms.
It's all genetics and drugs, training is 25% at most. Exercise selection is 2% maybe less.

it's from taking 5mg of finasteride per day
which is a shit ton
that + test = estrogen off the chart
at least that's my conclusion
i decreased to 2,5mg finasteride and it seems to be clearing up

Brutal acne. Chicks love whiteheads.... I think the problem might be that you simply suck.
Effects on Acne
Hormones also play a key role in the development of acne; high levels of androgenic hormones such as dihydrotestoterone (DHT) can cause excess sebum (oil) production, leading to acne flare-ups. Hormonal therapies such as finasteride help decrease excess DHT in the blood, decreasing acne and other effects. According to research published in the "Journal of Drugs in Dermatology," anti-androgen medications such as finasteride might help prevent acne by blocking the effects of androgens on the sebum-producing sebaceous glands.

i'm gonna do arms nothing but arms today
triceps biceps brachialis forearms
both build mass & power
I think reverse grip is better for building the meaty inner head of the tricep. The version Close Grip is better for building the outer head.
Do both for a 3D look
