Pamela Anderson Takes Aim at KFC By ROGER ALFORD, Associated Press Writer

Pamela Anderson is leading a charge to remove a bust of KFC founder Colonel Harland Sanders from the state Capitol.
The actress called the Kentucky native's likeness "a monument to cruelty" to chickens in a statement issued by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the animal rights group.
The statement did little to ruffle feathers in Gov. Ernie Fletcher's office.
"Colonel Sanders was one of Kentucky's most distinguished citizens, a great entrepreneur and a fine charitable man of faith, and he certainly has a place in Kentucky history. We believe he warrants appropriate recognition as such," Fletcher spokeswoman Jodi Whitaker said.
Anderson has been involved in a campaign to raise awareness of conditions in processing plants that supply poultry to the Louisville-based chicken chain.
In a letter to Fletcher, Anderson detailed alleged abuses of chickens by KFC suppliers. Among her claims, she said workers in a slaughterhouse in West Virginia have been filmed tearing the heads off live birds, spitting tobacco in their eyes, spray-painting their faces and slamming them on the ground.
KFC spokeswoman Laurie Schalow called the move to oust the colonel "just another misguided publicity stunt by PETA in their attempt to create a vegan society."

humm, lets see some guy in WV making $5/hr slaughtering chickens takes his frustration out by kicking, choking, or slamming some fucking chicken that is one step from the belt that carries it to its death anyway so that i can get my protein intake is accused of undue stress and mistreatment.

i saw this video like a year ago and was like WTF who cares. we raise chickens to kill them and eat them. what method they die from is of no concern to me. i recall ol' mcdonald using a hatchet and cutting their head off and allowing the headless bird to run through the yard then its was hot wings and bbq chicken time.

They are f*cking chickens.....bred to EAT. They are not pets...they are not packs of wild chickens roaming free on the plains that are abducted and subjected to cruel punishment. They are chickens that are bred in captivity for the SOLE purpose of eating. They can't talk, they can't fly, they are not good for ANY other purpose other than eating. Exactly how would they recognize better conditions? And what is better conditions for a chicken? Luxury coops? Higher grade corn? A chicken will eat it's own shit off the ground if its mixed with food....c'mon people, this is rediculous.
And PETA wants better conditions for KFC's animals??? Last time I checked, they made chicken....chickens are birds...I can't remember the last time I walked in and ordered a 15-piece veal bucket or baby seal nuggets. BIRDS...and whats worse....CHICKENS! PETA needs to get some new hobbies.

One wonders if she actually DID bother to research the character of the REAL Col. Sanders himself, or simply relied on videos circulating the internet demonstrating the cruelty of employees at a supplier corporation to KFC. It's pretty lofty to claim that because some backwoods farmworkers in WVA are mean to the chickens that Sanders henceforth becomes a monument to cruelty. She sure is making an ass of herself...but then, didn't she always?
