yeah, I heard Maddow actually carries twin glocks and spends her off-time poaching puppies in Montana.

she's all the way phony.

Thanks, RB  -- That was a great read.  Alec is definitely a getbigger at heart.

Seems like if you're a famous actor, you can't openly be one anymore, though.

Re: his opinion of Maddow, he was actually pretty complimentary of her work.  He made a point, though, to say that he didn't think she was funny and, hell, he's right about that.  (IMO, she's intelligent but not genuinely funny.)

When he wrote that he thought Rachel was a phony it seemed to be because he thought that she "doesn’t have the same passion for the truth off-camera that she seems to have on the air." What he was referring to was that she seems to have bought into the erroneous notion, now apparently accepted by many prominent gay folks in the media, that he's some sort of homophobic bigot without bothering to investigate the truth of the matter.

Ya know, I wouldn't doubt that Rachel, with the outwardly pleasant demeanor she always tries to project on camera, does not "get" a guy like Alec Baldwin even though their politics are very similar.

From how Alec describes himself, he seems a little like me, actually;  Politically (as in which government policies he supports) he's a progressive liberal but on a personal level, if he feels it's warranted, he'll have no problem with confronting someone and cursing them to the dogs and back in a decidedly non-PC way and even gives the impression that he might take a poke at someone when he's really mad.  My kind of guy, lol.

the guy who feels compelled to publicize the fact that he's withdrawing from "public life" (as if anyone gives a rats ass) sounds like the bitter one to me

Madow is a shill and a joke.

A joke is in the eye of the beholder so whateva.  (Besides, if it takes one to know one, then you seem to be more than qualified to make such a statement, lol.)

But a shill?  Are you implying that she doesn't really believe what she says?  I doubt that very much.

I think she comes off as an overworked person who has a tendency to be depressed (and who's not nearly as jovial as she acts) but, when it comes to her professed political beliefs, she seems like a true believer to me.
