"We want the world to solve its own problems for a while. The problem is that all this — invasions, wholesale slaughter, ethnic cleansing, missile tests, naval provocations, and raw brutality — is how the world beyond our borders solves its own problems"....unknown.

We're stuck being the worlds policeman. Somebody will fill that roll if we don't. For no other reason then to be the top dog on trade. It doesn't mean troops, it doesn't always mean forward bases. It means clear policy, follow through and decisive action when action is taken. It means a strong fully capable military. This current situation is another self inflicted gunshot wound by the West that could have been avoided.
