Bill Gates NEVER said this....FACT  ::)

This confirms it too:

"Be nice to nerds, chances are you'll end up working for one", not the greatest PR coming up with something bigotted and cocky like this, Richard Branson is not a Geek, Alan Sugar is not a Geek, Trump is not a Geek....infact the majority of big time Billionaires are sharp business man/entrepreneurs, the geeks are actually a minority and usually tend to be linked to a one trick pony which snowballed e.g. Mark Zuckerbeg & Facebook, Gates & Microsoft, Jobs & Apple....etc.

No, the above-cited list of "Rules Kids Won't Learn in School" didn't originate with former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates. (It's often cited on the Internet as having come from his book Business @ The Speed of Thought, but it didn't.) Why it has frequently been attributed to him is a mystery to us, as it doesn't sound at all like something he would write. Possibly it's because the item that typically ends the Internet-circulated version of the list ("Be nice to nerds") struck a chord with someone who views Gates as the ultimate successful nerd of all time. This list is the work of Charles J. Sykes, author of the 1996 book Dumbing Down Our Kids: Why American Children Feel Good About Themselves But Can't Read, Write, Or Add. (Sykes' list was published in numerous newspapers, although it did not appear in his 1996 book.

looks like some shit pulled off facebook.  Bill Gate's mom was on the board of IBM.  He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.  Why do people think Gates came from nothing?  His mom was instrumental in him starting MS and having the money and know how.  Gates without his mom would have amounted to shit.

Gates' charitable work will make him considered one of the greatest people ever, in the context of humanitarianism.

Bill Gates came from an upper class family who didn’t castrate him for dropping out of Harvard. (because the tuition he thus wasted wasn’t that much to them)

Walt Disney came from an upper class family and it was his dad that helped finance the start up of Walt Disney Productions.

Steve Jobs used criminal profits from selling devices made to defraud AT&T Long Distance to help him start Apple.

H. Ross Perot came from an upper class family.

Donald Trump.......

Chevy Chase........

Howard Hughes......

Robin Williams.......

Peter Sellers.........

Great success and wealth has roots in wealth.

Gates had access to computers at a critical time, not many others could get time with a computer to just practice programming at that time...especially in high school. Yes he did work his ass off, but he was in the right place at the right time.

Typically, it takes generations for a family to produce a bill gates ...rags to riches is usually a fairytale

Hmm..interesting, didn't know that. I always assumed Bill Gates started from nothing.

Some details they left out of Bill Gates life to make him sound cool, like saying look he's a high school drop out who became a Billionaire, but they forget to mention his mom.

Mary Maxwell Gates

In 1975, Governor Daniel J. Evans appointed Gates to the Board of Regents for her alma mater, where she led the movement on the board to divest the University of Washington's holdings in South Africa to protest apartheid. In addition, Gates served on the UW Foundation Board of Directors, the UW Medical Center Board, and the UW School of Business Administration's Advisory Board.

In the for-profit world, Gates served for many years on the boards of several major corporations, including: First Interstate Bank of Washington; Unigard Security Insurance Group; Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company, which became U.S. WEST Communications; and KIRO Incorporated.

Beyond the Seattle area, Gates was appointed to the board of directors of the national United Way in 1980, becoming the first woman to lead it in 1983. Her tenure on the national board's executive committee is believed to have helped Microsoft, based in Seattle, at a crucial time. In 1980, she discussed with John Opel, a fellow committee member who was the chairman of the International Business Machines Corporation, her son's company. Mr. Opel, by some accounts, mentioned Mrs. Gates to other I.B.M. executives.
A few weeks later, I.B.M. took a chance by hiring Microsoft, then a small software firm, to develop an operating system for its first personal computer.[3]

He gives billions to charity the same billions he keeps  off shore which, through creative accounting, he didn't pay taxes on.so he steals from the people who gave him the money (the u.s.) and acts like some great humanitarian.he wants you to be live he's a person of high moral character while not paying his taxes.you may not agree with our tax laws  and that is fine.if your dishonest you dishonest.I don't trust him nor do I respect him.simply he's a pos.his money doesn't change that.

Bill Gates gives a lot to charity again because of the influence of his mother who worked in SA against apartheid.  Still it's good that he's giving back a lot of his cash.  Funny how blacks never do this.
