Title: Fitbit is a complete waste of money
Post by: El Diablo Blanco on March 14, 2014, 11:25:02 AM
I bought a pedometer yesterday.  Decided to walk around the local highschool during their lunch break and the freaking thing didn't go off once.  I promptly returned it to the store and spent the night alone.

Pedo meters only work around nurseries, high schools are legit.

I've never found much use for the Fitbit, Jawbone Up, or the Nike Fuelband.  I don't care about "points", I want meaningful data.

The new Samsung Gear Fit looks interesting:  it's got a pedometer, but it also has a heart rate monitor, and it looks pretty nice:

Not sure what it's going to cost, though.

Another alternative is a good Bluetooth heart rate monitor strap and a good app.  This is what I use:

epic way to miss the point.   ;D

I never understood why people are so caught up in constantly measuring their heart rate throughout the day?

A pedometer is something that strikes fear in the heart of most getbiggers, not in tune with the fitness community, they don't know it's for measuring steps.
