Sorry you crazy hawks...... Putin stands in the way of your crazy ambitions once again...

Most Americans–Democrat, Republican, independent–want the US to stay out of Ukraine

The latest Pew Research Center survey regarding the conflict between Russia and Ukraine reveals, “By a roughly two-to-one margin (56% vs. 29%), the public says it is more important for the U.S. to not get involved in the situation with Russia and Ukraine than to take a firm stand against Russian actions.”

Though majorities of Republicans, Democrats and independents disapprove of the Obama administration’s handling of the situation, majorities in each group also want the United States “not to get too involved” in the current conflict, including 50 percent of Republicans, 55 percent of Democrats and 62 percent of independents.

It is noteworthy that independents are the group most averse to American intervention in the Ukraine. In January, Gallup reported that a record high of 42 percent of voters now identify as independents, something that could have a significant impact on the 2014 and 2016 elections.

Americans’ reluctance to get involved in the Russia-Ukraine conflict reflects consistent war weariness in recent years, where majorities have opposed US involvement in Syria and Libya despite by Obama administration’s support of these interventions.

A majority of Americans also now say the Iraq and Afghanistan wars were mistakes.

Not only do most Americans want it, I think most Ukrainians want it as well.

Sadly, the war hawks want Ukraine. It is geo-politically important to them, ...and I fear there will be a false -flag incident or some sort of provocation to ensure they get the war they want. Those who pull the puppet strings have been bleeding red ink for far too long, ...and as Smedley Butler said "War is the biggest racket there is"

If you're an interventionist after the Iraq lunacy, you're a moron.

if you're an isolationist, correct.

i think many want to do it to make our euro allies happy and keep russia from getting too strong.

I just spent 2 weeks in Germany. None of the Germans I spoke to thought we had any business in the Ukraine either.

The Ukraine, up until recently, was part of Russia. It's an internal family struggle IMHO. Letting Russia have parts of the Ukraine back isn't going to make them "stronger". They're going to do it anyway, so either we make hollow threats and look like fools when we don't follow through, or we let the CITIZENS of the UKRAINE decide what they want to do.

Isolationist is a term commonly tossed around, which tends to have a negative connotation.  How about non-interventionist, instead?

yeah, its not one way or the other. If there was some sort of horrific human tragedy happening in Crimea, id be all for intervening.  But there isnt. There is a vote for a group of citizens wanting to return to the motherland. Lol.
