Title: How Galeniko saved me from a back injury
Post by: _aj_ on March 16, 2014, 07:56:51 AM
I am I the gym right now and getting ready to do my last set of deadlifts. My back is a little tweaked, but I am going to gut it out.

All of a sudden, I hear Gal's voice (complete with Montenegran accent), "deadlifts are for idiots. Do you want to look like a permabulker fatso powerlifter?"

Scratch that last set and move on to the "pumping" exercises.

Back problems are frequently caused by a weak lower back. Then you easily tweak it doing
some gay poundage on squats or rows or whatever. Deadlifts may cure your weak lower back. Good mornings is another good lower back strengthener.

I was going to squat the other day I put 500 pounds on the bar then I heard Galeniko voice saying dont do it because you might have problems fitting into skinny jeans, so I walk over to the hack squat and did a few light reps, thank you Galeniko for saving me.

stair master.  Like I said. You arebt capable of tapping a phone screen sitting on a stairmaster while walking up some imaginary stairs? Its not like all cardio is wind sprints.

well when i do cardio i work hard and concentrate. never waste my time with very low intensity stuff. must be very slow and very low intensity . not having a go at you but if you can look in Internet and write stuff you are wasting your time.

well iīm nearly 48 and to get my heart rate 150+ i do Interval Training. My heart rate was at 165 to 170 tonight but working very hard on interval cross Trainer. Doing say the Bike i do a program which is mixed and is less taxing and i would consider this lower intensity. there are moments in this program i could do what you do but not at higher intensity. Depends on what you think is cardio. nothing wrong with Walking or what you do. i just donīt fuck around when i do cardio. hit it hard. stair master can be hard too so not taking the piss.

I probably would on the elliptical as well. Stairmaster is fairly easy though, as even on a decently high level it's the incline that does the heartrate not the speed.
I browse sometimes on the elliptical but not post so much.

I feel like I have to defend my manhood here. I came into the lift with my back feeling a little tweaked, probably slept wrong, something that happens to me. I rolled out well and was cruising on my lifts, but my back didn't loosen up. As a matter of fact, it started to get a little tighter. I started to overthink it (as I have dorked out my back before) and then I heard Gal's voice...

So I left a set on the table.

Do I DL? Yes. Will I continue to DL? Yes. Will I always try to train smart so that I can continue to train well into my senior years? Yes.

NO HOMO.
