will perdue one of the greatest players in history besides danny ferry and christian laetner only averaged 8-9 minites per game and around 5 points per game, had a damn near 50-60 percent feild goal percentage too
michael jordan averaged 38 minites per game and 30 points per game but shot only 48 percent

Perdue won 3 titles with the Bulls and one title with the Spurs. He was a backup center for Cartwright and once Cartwright was gone, they immediately traded him for Rodman. Will Perdue had very little play time so he wasn't that intregal to the team....just at the right place at the right time

He was SEC Male Athlete of the Year in 1988, and then chosen by the Bulls with the 11th overall pick of the 1988 NBA Draft. And while he didn't contribute statistically, Will Perdue clearly possessed a lucky aura.
As Center Bill Cartwright's backup between 1991 and 1993, he won three titles with Chicago.
Will Perdue was best known in Chicago circles as the guy Michael Jordan was constantly berating in practice for his lack of toughness, offensive officiency, drive, and just basic footwork to make better use of his seven foot frame.
For all that verbal abuse you could almost argue he deserved the three titles he won with the Bulls. Eventually the Bulls would trade away Perdue's career 4.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per game to obtain Dennis Rodman from the San Antonio Spurs.
But Will would not be totally forgotten after the trade.
He won his fourth NBA championship with the Spurs in 1999, a year he averaged 2.4 points per game. Pure brilliance.

Maybe....except he never FOUGHT FOR IT. He played it safe and just stuck with the winning team. If he wasn't getting respected, then he should have gone to another team.
That's the thing about life....would have, could have...but he didn't and that's why you'll never see him in the Hall Of Fame. But he's a sports analyst for ESPN and he very well off financially....better than where most basketball players end up.....

The spurs fans loved him. I remember being at a game once when he got some minutes at the end of a blow out...he somehow got a pass in the low post, and went up for a DUNK....the roof was about to get blown off the stadium...and he rim checks himself off the front of the rim. Hilarious

I heard that Perdue landed that huge Nike "Air" deal for Jordan. Will handed the contract to Jordan on a silver platter. Is that true? Or is that Folk Lore? If Will Perdue did provide Jordan with that Nike contract, that would prove that there is not an ounce of greed in him.
