Title: How long can Ronnie stay competitive?
Post by: Matt C on January 17, 2006, 11:42:47 PM
And by competitive I don't mean winning the Mr. Olympia contest, but just doing well as a pro?  With Vince Taylor coming back at 50 it makes me wonder how long the big man can go and still have respectable showings.

I think they will give him nine even if he comes in with his whole arm missing.

I'm just wondering where he will go from there.

he'll retire from the sport as well as from the police force.. He then will become a preacher to the Lord Savior Jesss Chlist

He'll skip the O this year with that torn tri

drop a load on them.

Ronnie will take the year off and discover early on in 2007 that he's pushing 44, and reluctantly hang up the posing shorts.

Two years later, at a chance beach encounter with new Mr O Gustavo, he'll have a laugh at poor Jay "A cut below" Cutler, who never got his Sandow and now looks redder than don youngblood in a pot of tomato soup.

If Dorian can win with a torn tricep over the likes of Shawn Ray, Flex, Kevin Lavrone and Nasser, then surly Ronnie can do it against lesser competition!

I agree - if Dorian beat Ray, levrone et al in 94 looking like he did, and the IFBB didn't care, given the current competition Ronnie could conceivably win until 2030! :D

^Now that's blatant instigation, Robert!   ;D

Gustavo stepping over Cutler on this way to a fresh Sandow would probably haunt him to his grave.

The difference at that Olympia was nobody knew about the torn tri and it was already surgically repared before the "O". Can you find a picture showing the deformity in Yates tricep from that olympia?

Well, I think his goal is to win the O ten times. Considering his dominance, it is very likely he will accomplish it. Yet, at the age of 42, Ronnie is starting to decline, both in size and strengh. From now on, he will decline significantly each and every single year. It IS possible, that a newcomer-or Cutler-, will defeat him this or next year. Unlikely, though possible. Regards. :)

With hindsight then the answer was 2006. Eight years for a reply. Record?
