Saw this guy today, lean, arms maybe 15 inches or so, pick up a bar with 70kg / 155lb on it, lean against the wall and proceed to do perfect 8 reps of curls!!!!!!!!HOW?????!!! 15 inch arms!!! He curls more than guys ive seen with 19 inchers.
-
I had a friend like that, always was able to lift way more than he looked like he should on arm stuff. At about 6' 170 with 15-16 inch arms he could woukd sit there and rep with a 135lb bar on the preacher curl station

There's some Irish guys with Viking genetics flowing through them that can move a lot of weight...
-
Genetics.
Look at Olympic weightlifting or powerlifting in the lighter weight divisions. Some of those guys look like nothing yet would put IFBB pro's to shame.
If you saw Pyrros Dimas, you wouldnt think he could deadlift +200kg, let alone put it over his head.

The reason for this is some skinny guys have problem putting on size but if they train hard they do end up getting very strong but not big.

Genetics.
I saw a guy with toothpick calves doing calf raises on the smith machine with 4 plates each side.
I do with 2 plates and have calves bigger than the guy's quads.

This is why i hate argument, you'd need to be this big or weigh that much to lift a certain amount.

:) Cheers, I must remember that quote for the next time I'm getting in the zone before training
-
A lot of this is due to nervous system training. Remember, the muscles are controlled by the nervous system. If you can improve your nervous system in terms of how it "communicates" with the musculoskeletal system you can maximise its performance and proficiency i.e. lift heavier weights. Think of olympic weightlifters and powerlifters in lighter weightclasses lifting insane weights - they have maximised their nervous system potentiation through hundreds of hours of practice.

I saw a guest lifter... Forget his name... At a powerlifting meet squat 605 for 5 perfect reps...
He weighed 155 lbs.
It was unfucking believable in person. He was some well known professional power lifter at the time. That was many years ago though so sorry I don't have his name.

He looked like a boxer to be honest... Small and lean but looked like he worked out. That's it... You would never see the strength coming.

A great workout for his tendons and bones no doubt lol
I'm sure as he was repping, his biceps were just chatting to eachother like "Hey man what's up?" "Nothing much, just lifting about 30% of this weight, probably won't grow will we" "Nah, probably not, we're still 15" after 10 years of natural training" "Yeah, hopefully he will use use to type 'galeniko' into getbig search bar tonite and learn how to make us bigger with less weight" "Yeah hopefully, anyway let's get back to pretending we're growing" "Cool yeah, speak soon mate"

That's right, and some of 'em can even lift a lot, despite their weight. And drink you under the table.

He wasn't raw. He had everything on and only did non drug tested meets... I'll see if I can dig up pics. I said he was a guest lifter.... I competed raw. He didn't. AND they were not competition squats. IE one or two may have gotten red lighted by judges. It was exhibition lifting. Come on with this weak ass shit. If your gonna insult make it count.

Maybe he used celltech nitrotech stack with hydroxycut to give him the energy, that stack is 23209.126% better than anything else.
