Living Legend!
-
56 years old in this video
How is it possible to be 2nd at Olympia at 55 and to win in 1991 the Niagara Pro at the age of 61 years old.
-
He has the best genetic of all time.
He did the longest carreer of all pro's.
Not dead, no muscle tear, looks extremely young, wide and healthy.
-
Saw him train in 1991,so he would have been 61,and he went all the way up the dumbell rack on d/bell press for 10 reps with each weight, starting at 10lbs and finished with the 160s,only about a minute rest between sets.We had about 18 pairs of d/bells in total in the gym and he did a set with every one....and this was 1 day before he competed in the english gp.

Living Legend!
Great bicep peaks and to think Beckles hasn't even brought in his arms to fully hit the pose.
-
Great african genetics.
-
By far the best older BB ever.
-
Insane genetics! One of the greatest of all time!
-
Is it possible he's fibbing about his age, like a lot of Dominicans do?
-
Good to see him, been around a long time. Champion. Everyone always wondered about his age, even in the late 70s. Good for him. Insane peak. Compare him with Boyer, like two different species.
-
-
amazingly detailed back too

he is not Dominican.....why would he lie about being 83 years old?
-
CRAZY genetics!!
-
he is not Dominican.....why would he lie about being 83 years old?
actutally he was born 1938, 76 i think
-
84.. on his deathbed..still cannot break character and tell the truth .. typical lies from a bodybuilder.. I stopped watching after 15 min.
-
amazingly detailed back too
:o Damn impressive. Looks even better than a 1992/1993 Flex Wheeler there.
-

I love how he used to lie about his age. I have early 1980's Muscle and Fitness magazines where in one article he claimed he was born in 1930 and another where he claimed 1939. His birth year changed from month to month. Still unsure of his ACTUAL birth year?

And he would gain from it how?
-

No, he was born in 1930. That is a fact. It has been documented many times in Muscle and Fitness. There have been discrepancies in his age (late 1930's), but it has always come back to 1930 as his year of birth. He is or will be 84 this year.

If memory serves, he's Bajan.
-
he was born in 1930 and is from Barbados......no reason to lie.

This is what training, eating correctly and great genes can do for you.
Dude will probably live past 100.

Much better bicep peaks on both than today's generation. Al has also one of the most detailed backs.

To think Albert Beckles was 55 and coming in 2nd in the Olympia, meanwhile everyone makes excuses for Ronnie and Dorian falling apart in their 40s.

I guess he's one of these who are not very "anti-steroids" ::)
"Vitamins".. lol
-
He was always a good bodybuilder but in the late 70's and early 80's he just got ripped. I hear about him using heavy weights but I also hear about him using moderate weights. Not sure what is fact and what is fiction.

"Taste"? Coming from a subhuman who makes fun of a woman with cancer?
-
Albert Beckles is ageless.. never had the long full Biceps of larry scott but had very short high Biceps.

'Taste'? Would you define an illegal and hiv infected budget hooker with pancake nipples from Africa as good 'taste'?

O....K...and you are whom?
-
Albert is Robby's idol (in Robby's own words).
-
Albert Beckles is awesome. Known him for a long time. He is an IFBB Judge out here in Southern California, and always very respectful and cool.

:)

Actually there's a big reason to lie , he will be unique in his class, will hold records almost impossible to surpass if he indeed was born in 1930......
I still think he was born in 1938, and Joe to push his "bodybuilding is the fountain of youth and his snake oil ads" came up with the idea.....
I could be wrong though .
Woooshhhhhhhh

Ric has one hellava story. Arnolds training partner for 4 years. Designed both the Golds and World Gym logos/T shirts. Knows all the old timers on a personal basis. A Muscle Beach historian. Done many movies and stage shows. A top ranked pro wrestler. Won about every Bodybuilding honor out there. I have not seen Ric for over 2 years since I moved to AZ. I can tell you that he is not the best dressed man in the BB world. Lives in those stinkin Ts 24/7. He is a handsome old fart. He looks like my little brother.
My guess is that Beckles has always lied about his age...gives him something unique being the oldest man on stage. He is my age +/- a few.
-
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Albert have a brother who is also a bodybuilder and did some acting? I think he was in the movie The Deep with Nick Nolte. Excellent movie by the way.

He's lucky to still be alive, he nearly died from experimenting with insulin several decades ago...cardiac arrest....

Born 1938....

Kind of like how Leroy Colbert changed his bicep measurement claim. At first Leroy claimed to be "the first to build 20" arms". And then when 20" arms started becoming the norm in bodybuilding, he conveniently changed his claim to "the first to build 21" arms". ::)
-
Doesn't look much older than in his late 50s. That's some good genetics right there.
