Ron Love was also one of the guys contacted to go over to WBF. He told me that the bodybuilders were put on a different diet by Mauro DiPasquale (?) with high protein fats and no or very low carbs. He said that it worked, but the stubborn bodybuilders did their own thing and fucked it up and most came in fat and out of shape.

the "testing" was always an excuse.. they were experiment with a new type of dieting .. at least that's what he told me.

That was Mike Quinn's excuse for coming in fat. Said he was doing hours of cardio but the high fat diet was making him fat.

yeah thanks for reminding me that was the story....and i lolled to when i read it. If he didnt like the diet why didnt he just do his normal routine, not like they where watching him 24/7 if they where forced to do the diet

Conversation goes like this
"Ron, get rid of that bald twat then we can train"
"OK I will tell him some bullshit about the WBF, that should do it"

The 2nd year, the guys were not only fatter, but they had lost a lot of muscle too.
Their new diet did not cause that. The testing is what hurt them. They lost muscle even while on TRT
I guess most still used GH though

He came in fat on purpose...and why not? They all were on contract and getting paid regardless of their condition.
A few of them beat the tests. Gary Strydom and Aaron Baker still looked okay.

There are accusations that Strydom wasn't tested.
Of course, those accusations came from Mike Quinn, among others...

If I remember correctly, Jim Quinn, Eddie Robinson, and David Dearth stated that everybody, from Strydom on down, was tested.
Jim Quinn claimed that he and Strydom were so huge (nearly 300 each) in the off-season that, even with the loss in size from the testing, they had enough size to look decent at the '92 show.

Strydom was the king of the WBF.
He did destroy everybody.

"The athletes who signed with the WBF did so for financial gain. There's nothing wrong for that, and the IFBB, understanding that 'business is business', allowed them to return with a much milder penalty than anyone had first imagined. To those who say there should have been no penalty, how would they explain such leniency to those who refused the WBF's bait?"
lol what a bunch of bs from peter m, their placings in alot of shows tells another story
