Title: UnderArmour And Phil Heath
Post by: Parker on March 31, 2014, 10:52:26 PM
I was looking at the Cam Newton Highlights trainers (these could have been Phil Heath's) and their Micro G Charge Volt basketball shoes, and their designs are reminiscent of when Nike was very avant garde with designs in the 90s.

I believe that a great upstart company like UnderArmour, which is ruffling some feathers in the sneaker biz would be a great match for someone like Heath. He has ruffled feathers with some (being narrow, not being as "big" during the offseason, etc). He can wear his Jordans at home...but imagine if these were his sponsored workout shoes:

They seem great for comfort.. I'd like the two versions .. where would you recommend I order these? Remember I am in Romania and they are probably sold in US. I am very retarded when it comes to e-commerce

I love Under Armor stuff.  Good quality, but expensive at times.  There is an outlet near the mexican border that I go to twice a year, killer deals.

There's some shoe I read about that promises you'll be able to dunk a basketball or your money back, or something along those lines.

Only matter of time before Heath pulls a stunt like this and it fails miserably...

I assume the OP is trolling with this thread. No mainstream company would ever partner with an IFBB bodybuilder for marketing purposes.
I believe Nike did with Kevin Levrone. Hence the reason for that big swoosh that use to be in his gym.

The only thing "upstart" about Under Armour now is that they are trying to get into the golf shoes business.
they're are enough pros in their clothes that they are bound to succeed.

I've seen the low tops in person. But, the black high tops look kinda stealth to me. The design reminds me of the Air Huraches of the 90s.
I doubt it but if u can show me a Nike ad w/ him in it I'll believe it. The Nike/Levrone rumors have never been substantiated.

Why would any mainstream company want to associate w/ the activity most overtly associated with steroid use? I know many of the athletes sponsored by Nike, etc., use AAS but it's on the down low until they get caught, like Armstrong, at which point Nike drops them. Heath isn't fooling anyone.
I couldn't find anything concrete. But, does Nike  always feature someone in an ad for sponsorship. Or an agreement for advertisement.

Also, track and field, Nike is heavily into that, and what with the Ben Johnson scandal back in 88, it was well known that track and field was/is a bastion of steroid usage. Bodybuilders only look the part.

Funny...

What's amazing is they took so long to get into the golf shoe business. One would think that they would have been all over it 10 years ago.

Not growing old gracefully...fighting it with hormones, hair dyes, erection pills and lets not forget proscar...we wouldn't want that prostate to explode.
