Title: Porsche's New Turbo Flat Four?
Post by: Parker on April 02, 2014, 04:32:23 PM
Testing a new flat four? Rumored to go into the next Boxster/Cayman and can produce up to 400 hp.
Sacrilegious? Or is this like the 212s, mini-mass monsters.

Ever since the death of Uwe Gemballa, their kits have gotten more and more garish. Seemingly appealing to the same customer base as Mansory.

That Macan looks to like it will be a big hit. Optionsd out, a Macan Turbo can be 95k.
Cayenne GTS...nice.

I am a fan of what they did with the Porsche  964 Turbo.

Damn! These cars are getting crazy expensive . I remember 996 911's started around like 60k. Porsche now wants an arm and leg for their cars??

Macan S would be the better buy imo

Yep...which is why Porsche is one of the most profitable car companies.
And imagine what a Cayman or Boxster with a turbo flat four with 400 hp and options will cost.

Yes, I think a Macan S will be the bread and butter of the line.

Over the next five years, Volkswagen is planning to spend 84.2 billion euros ($114 billion) on upgrading technologies, modernizing plants and developing new car models.  The flat four for Porsche is just the start of what's coming from the Volkswagen group.

We have this man to thank for all the wonderful cars from VW

That actually applies for lovers of muscle cars like vettes, camaros, mustangs, etc...

Cause they need big motors... ;) ;D

Funny growing up around Porsches they are really imo the only crowd where their owners don't give a shit and are "real" car guys who usually race/track their cars

Now bmw, Mercedes, American muscle car guys, that's a diff story
