Post by: Purge_WTF on April 06, 2014, 04:10:09 AM
Been a while since I've bought any extreme metal, so I bought a CD last night from one of the genre's best. Aaaaarrgghh!

I like it... Used to play (bass) in a speed metal band called Terrahsphere back in late 80's/early 90's.
Had a lot of fun with it. (Signed to New Rennaisance Records back then).

Metal lacks soul since when they stopped burning churches. No conviction.

Jazz is garbage? If youre saying itnas far as what you like to listen to, fair enough

but if youre insinuating that jazz as a category is garbage. . Well thats just about the most ignorant comment in history.  Jazz is an incredibly deep, complex, and interesting genre.

Jazz is fucking shit, it all sounds like its fucking made up as they are going along, its all over the fucking place.

It even annoys me.

Well, thats just you not understanding whats going on. Which is fine, much of it is extremely technical and ic youre not a musician or a hardcore fan it can get overwhelming.

I like music that tends to go somewhere ,not just jump around all over the place until it finally comes to an abrupt stop.

Thrash metal is my go to genre of metal but I also love doom/sludge, speed and death. Off the top of my head recent favourites on my playlist are Dark Angel, Sodom, Testament, Sleep, Death, YOB, Opeth, old Slayer. I highly recommend Dark Angel if the idea of a mixture between thrash and death metal sounds appealing. These guys were around in the 80's but were surely a huge influence on the pure death and black metal genres that arose in the 90's.

Yes, music with soul I find more interesting. And thus I raise you some large Caucasian bastard winter metal.
