What would you buy at the grocery store for the whole week?
-
ramen noodles
Seriously though...looking for some honest opinions.
-
If they had BS chicken thighs for 1.30 to 1.60 I would get 10 lbs. (15.00 appr.)
2 gallons milk (4.50 appr.)
Oatmeal (2 bucks?)
Yams, 3lb (4 bucks?)
Brown Rice, 2lb bag (2.50 ON SALE WE ASSUME)
Bananas, 3lb (again, the banana boat has come in, .33/lb so 1 dollar)
2lb lean ground beef, here no sale pending, so its 2.25/lb (4.50)
Cottage Cheese 4lb (On sale, 2 bucks per 2lb tub... 4 dollars)
Yogurt, 12 cups for 5dollars for snack (5 dollars)
2 packs frozen veggies, 1.49 apiece (3 dollars)
And for Saturday night.... On sale was a package of lean pork chops
.... 5.50 for 3 lb (2 meals afternoon and evening for...5.50 total)
I happened to have 2 cans of Mushroom soup for the chops and of course
I had a 22lb bucket of wiegh I got from MaxMuscle so I had 2 shakes a day.

I'd just buy a few things of oatmeal, eggs, maybe a pack of frozen chicken breasts, and frozen veggies.

One of those huge deli meat party platters that serves 15 people. mmmmm

Household staples ;)
With protein powder (and the frosted flakes i gank from my roommate on sundays) that's 100% of my diet! ;D
-
$50 a week sounds like my budget for food right now haha and it sux! More money is nice id liek $100 would be enough it think maybe a little more.
-
$50 worth of condoms
-
Well you can get big buckets of whey for $100 bucks if you go to Max Muscle and order them. That's 22 pounds would probably last you 4 months. The last bucket I got was Rx Whey so it's decent stuff better than the big 5lb bargain buckets IMO.
-
And I will add I DOUBT you could eat all that food I posted above in 7 days. You may need some more carbs but they are cheap and thats a lot of meat, 15 pounds plus the cottage cheese. Even at 280 you could get in 400g protien with that shopping list a day if you got your 2 shakes whey on the side, probably like I posted above 7 bucks a week.
-
That's pretty much my budget for food. All I buy is steak, fish, chicken, eggs, bag of spinach, and frozen veggies. If you go to Sam's Club, its pretty easy to do
-
That's what my budget is every week.
I usually buy the following:
Wheat Bread $2
Skim Milk $3 (may be $2 if on sale)
Various Fruit & Veggies $10
Instant Brown Rice $2
V-8 $3
Assorted Beef, Chicken, & Fish (what's on sale) $15
Oatmeal $2
Two Dozen Eggs $4 (I buy the vegetarian feed ones)
Five Gallons of Water $5 (to drink at work)
Yogurt $4
As things go on sale I'll spend a little extra to stock up (i.e. caned salmon, instant rice, etc...)

Food for my kids.

Food for my kids.
k, well then i guess we won't have to call social services.
-
Yes.
yeah...50bux is nothing here! you could get 4kg of chicken breasts and mabye a 6 pack of tuna.
-
Food is quite expensive. I thought WallMart was quite cheap.
for 50 bucks,
I would buy,
7 lbs cottage cheese, (no fat 50 gram protein) 50 cents each, 3,50
7 packs of fishmeals, different kind of tastes, 1,40 each, 48 gram protein each, 9,80
3 eggs a day, 21 a week, 30pack costs 3 dollar
7 blicks of tuna, 35 grams of protein each, 69 cents each, 4,20
3 chickenchest, about 300 gram each, 4,50
pound of meat, not my favourite 2,50
Total 27,50
Left 22,50 for some rice, oliveoil, pasta, legumes (beans, peas and lintels), not canned but fresh, maybe some potatoes, some whey, peanuts, a bread, around 10-15 euros on vegetables.
I don't buy these stuff every week, cause most of it you keep for two or three weeks.
50 dollars ain't much, but it doesn't become a matter of surviving.
-
i'd find what's on sale in the meat dept, and have a "meat feast"!
