Troy Alves is one of the favorites to win the 2006 Ironman Pro. After seeing his precontest pictures, he truly has a chance to get this title. There are only a few standing in his way. This is Troy's year. Here is an intereview with Troy, and more about this competitor...

Good interview, but I think the answer to How much do you weigh at the moment. is missing.

Fixed that...

I can relate to Gustavo......
I think he just wants to get his name out there and make waves in the sport.
I don't have a problem with the "bumping" at all. If Alves didn't like it, he could bump back, problem solved.
You have to put yourself out there by any means necessary.
I can sympathize with Gustavo, even though it did make him look like a dick.
Once you're on stage, all bets are off......
I'm sure Badell is cool off-stage......

That's the thing, Troy mentioned that backstage Gustavo didn't talk to anyone as if he were better then everyone else. It's okay to bump on stage when the other guy know's it's just a friendly competitive bump, but when you have no friendship with this guy because He's basically ignoring all his fellow competitors he'll come off as being a real dick. That's like coming up to some guy on the street and purposely bumping into him, more then likely he'll be pissed, if you were to do that to one of your friends they'd know you'd be just joking around.

Just read his interview on the getbig.com webpage. He does a very good job representing bodybuliding. He seems confident in his abilities and does not come across cocky. He answers his questions with honesty without throwing anyone under the bus. As for his physique it is somewhat attainable for the aspiring bodybuilder. Not freaky but pleasing to the eye. I wish more bodybuilders pro's and amateur's would carry temselves in a manner like he does.

What is Troy's background??
The answer will let me decide whether I like him or not. ;D

Gustavo was a teacher/ big brother to down syndrome kids, I'm sure he's a decent guy. As for him not talking to anyone backstage, c'mon. Not all pros are chummy with each other, we all know that. I doubt Cutler goes around talking to everyone for 20 minutes at a time. They have jobs to do, you gotta be in the zone at a show.

best of luck troy!! make phoenix proud!!
