Arnold Brazil Champion, Steve Kucklo jumps into emergency action to help try and save the life of a female passenger as our flight from Rio de Janeiro to Dallas, Tx was diverted to Costa Rica for an Emergency Landing!!!
The captain remained calm and asked that we all stay seated as Steve continued to try and help the passenger stabilize. It became apparent that this emergency was no longer an emergency when after approximately 20mins on the ground the passenger still lay prone on the floor at the back of the aircraft with the crew and Kucko hovering over her while a bewildered husband/ boyfriend was being consoled by crew members.
The captain stated the plane would be grounded over night and all passengers transported to a local hotel continuing our journey home tomorrow.
The gravely Ill passenger did not survive.
Kudos to Mr. Kucklo whom after what seemingly was the highlight of his professional career as an athlete to date stepping into duty in a losing effort to try and save a life that was totally out of his hands.
RIP

He kept flexing the tris as he did CPR, flaring them outwards and inwards between compressions, looking down at them and halfway smiling.

And doing a pec bounce with each compression on the victims chest. Victim probably would have lived had it not been for him repping out and going for the burn so fast she couldn't catch her breath.

Thanks Steve. A badly needed plus for our tattered BB image. Steve is a Paramedic with the City of Dallas.

Just a drop of sweat from Kuclo and that diabetic woman was back on her feet.
